Hey guys,

So I saw some friends posting some Warhammer 40k stuff on instagram and I've decided to retrieve my Eldar war host out of the webway.

I played Eldar during the 4th Edition, which was like 10 years ago when the Eldar indulged in too much porn to birth Slannesh... Fast forward to the 7th Edition Eldar codex and Rulebook, which I had obtained through questionable means online (lol).

Any quick-start guide to the current edition? I've got...

10 Dire Avengers
3 War Walkers
10 Pathfinders
5 Warp Spiders
6 Harlequins
1 Wave Serpent
1 Falcon

Thank you!

Hi there.

You will need an HQ choice, probably a Farseer, but an Autarch should do until you get going.

Pathfinders are not much use, but your local meta might say otherwise.
Warp Spiders are excellent now, with the warping-out defensive ability and fast warp move.

Harlequins are not in the Eldar Codex any more and have their own. Use them as counts-as as Scorpions or Banshees maybe, but melee is not big in 7th. 'Go big, or go splat'.

Jetbikes are very nice, as missions are often 'hold a random point for a turn, then move to the next one'. Farseer on a jetbike (a Jetseer) can be very good.

And then you get to get proper copies of the books , as iffy copies can often contain errors.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Thanks for the advice!!!

Will get a copy of the physical eldar codex somewhere.

Yes I used to play against Tropper SM, Necrons and MC Tyranids. So the Pathfinders work well against them.

Oh and Warseer is gone. T.T
