I have to admit, I was rather skeptical of the new kharn model from the pictres. But having him in my hands now, he is actually quite impressive.
The guy is huge! I had an old termiantor captain from black reach lying around and despite being hunched over, kharn is still taller! Not to mention buff as heck.

Standing next to a sororitas he actually looks like a truescale marine, and a big one at that. The pictures don't do him justice at all.
The dark vengeance chosen seemed slightly larger too, but I could be imagining things.

Is there any chance the scale is changing to that extent? Or is this a one off?

All marine figures have slowly been getting larger over time...if AoS is any indication I think this will continue ad you will see more marine characters/models which are ridiculously huge.

Most marines are getting bigger but I think it's just the posing of Kharn that he appears substantially larger; he's on his toes and his entire body is stretched straight while the Terminator Captain is hunched over with knees bent and a foot firmly planted on the ground. Kharn also has a huge imposing helmet.

Those small things sound like they shouldn't make a difference but all added up can increase the height of a model substantially. Plus I also think the Black Reach Terminators were somewhat smaller than usual.

I've noticed that not all models are really growing. Looking at my recent AoS purchases, I notice that the Bloodreavers are significantly smaller than the Blood Warriors or the Hero units, and in the Silver Tower set, the Stormcast Eternal and Darkoath Chieftain are significantly larger than the other heroes. This is actually consistent with the fluff. We won't know for sure until GW releases a new model that is human-sized in the fluff (maybe some of the Genestealer Cultists?), but it seems like they are trying to make the models that are supposed to be larger (Space Marines, Chaos Warriors, Stormcasts) actually larger.

I really hope they make the difference in height even just a little more pronounced. Just that size difference makes kharn look sooo much more menacing and obviously fits the fluff.

I just compared a GSCultist to a Calth Marine and he's defintiely smaller.

I've always been intrigued by truescale models, but I didn't think it would such an impact when you see it in on the tabletop. It really changes the mood.

What I'm more interested in is how they will look rather than size. Some of the newer artwork showing really ornate, chaosified marines as opposed to what we have now hopefully is the direction they are going. Chosen fully ornate and marines on the verge. Assuming GW bother redoing base csm

Is it just me or does that tac marine look a tad short?

Even more so when you consider that the tac marine is on an elevated scenic base.

"Aren't you a little short to be a Space Marine?"

It makes it even harder to fit 10 of them in a rhino.
