For those who don't know, Song of Blades and Heroes is a wonderful, wonderful rule set from Ganesha Games, made for small scale fantasy skirmishes using any models you want, with the ability to very easily make completely custom profiles for them thanks to the robust profile and points system. It's simple, fast and fun. The latest variant (there are many, for different settings) is Advanced SoBaH, which is slightly more in-depth than the simple original, but still easy enough for any beginner to pick up in minutes.
This Kickstarter is funding a narrative campaign book and two sets of miniatures to play it with: Possessed Dwarfs and Halflings. You can also get your grubby mitts on the ASoBaH rule book (which I would strongly recommend you get anyway), a nice mouse pad 3x3 game mat, and the Dwarf expansion and models from their last KS. All the stretch goals are for free minis so this has the potential to be a great deal, especially at the $80 level which gives you both warbands, the game mat, the campaign book and the rule book, all with FREE worldwide shipping!!!
Even if you're not interested in the models, I'd strongly recommend anyone to get the ASoBaH rule book, which is also available digitally from places like Wargamevault or directly from Ganesha

Beat me to it! Darn!
I absolutely love the Ganesha stuff, and this is a pretty snazzy deal for what you get with your pledge.
While I'm more a fan of the basic Song of Blades & Heroes, there's quite a lot of interesting stuff that the advanced rules do a lot better.
My plan has always been to get my Fighting Fungi finished before officially playing the Advanced rules, and I think I'm down to the last 5 or 6 from my pledge at this point.
One of the most interesting things from the Advanced rules is the whole block and counter system that is in place, as well as longer/ heavier weapons actually having some differences compared to basic hand weapons.
Best part? All of those rules are totally optional, even in the advanced version, and you can tailor it all to your liking!

The fact that Advanced makes it even easier to use non-fantasy stuff is a huge bonus for me. The reaction features are a neat new system as well. It seems to borrow a page from Infinity, allow players actions when their opponents drop the ball on their rolls.
I'm all in on this campaign, but I'll probably wind up selling off my Halflings as they just don't interest me all that much. The Evil Dawrves though? They're prettu awesome looking.

Personally I'm really only after the physical rule book and the game mat, but those two+shipping wouldn't be far off from the $80 pledge which will become an insane deal as pledge goals unlock. So I guess I'm going $80 :p

I'm torn. The mat and a print copy of the rules would be nice, but I was also just a GW whore and bought a copy of Silver Tower and Death Masque.

I really wish I didn't hate SoBH. So many people seam to love it so much, but I've just never been able to get over how simple it is and the 2 stat system. Tried a few times. I'm glad people have fun with it, but I just wish it had more depth to the rules and stats, an elf just never feels different enough from a dwarf or an orc in the end. Seeing the campaign, i just picked up the advanced rulebook to see if reactions add enough to offset the oversimplified stats+traits system, hopefully it does.
The campaign looks great tho and it's hard to hate on those figs, just oozing charm. That mat is great, I backed it at that level. $40 (with shipping) for a 3x3 mousepad mat is a steal.

Pledged! There is something extremley charming in the feeling and miniatures here. The "chaos dwarfs" even manage to look kind of cute and really evil at the same time!
The "Songs" rules are actually a bit to simple for my tastes - but I figure I can use them as a kind of boardgame for novices?
At least that is what I tell myself to motivate the pledge. :-)

Isn't DEEP WARS and SHADOWSEA based off of the SoBH?
Those games are great - and in no way what I'd call 'simple'.
Am I...missing something?
Because I'm certainly interested in picking up the 'advanced' version of the SoBH rules here...

Well, the engine basically runs on two stats: quality and combat. That does not give much granulity. But I have more and more come to appriciate simplicity in wargaming rules anyway (why do I play Infinity again?). It feels a bit more like board game level of complexity which I like and kind of miss in the collection.
Now everyone has to pledge so that all the fun female characters for both sides get unlocked. Pledge darn you! :-)

Well, the various skills are where the differences between fighters really is displayed, especially when you assign certain skills to races as automatic "racial" skills.
