Sesame street

Hi! So I have been looking around the games store and heard tonnes of good things about AOS, I've seen people playing it and it seems pretty cool, so I looked through the GW webstore to see what I should buy of ebay and discovered there are tons of armies, so my question is what army would be good for a beginner? My brother had 2 armies before he quit that he said I could have if i wanted so specifically would a ogre mammoth + ogre Calvary or a death elves army be any good for a beginner?

thanks!

(EDIT: I also got some daemons)

Ha. What a difference a year and a half makes!

The rules for AoS and all the units are free and available on GW's webpage. I recommend reading the 4 pages of rules and looking over the warscrolls for the armies you are interested in. I'm not sure that any armies are really harder to play for a beginner - I just recommend starting out with a hero and one or two units and adding more one at a time until you are comfortable playing them. If you want to build armies using the point system, you'll need to get the $25 General's Handbook, which has army building rules and point values for the majority of the units in the game.

Yes do what Sqorgar said. Also do you have an iPad? There is an app for Age of Sigmar and you can download all the war scrolls onto the app. I think there is an Android version as well.

Most of the scrolls are free but there is some locked that you need to buy.

Really I don't think you can go wrong. Just look at what interests you. Go what looks cool for you. What is your play style? You want a horde army or a small few Elites? Maybe a shooty or magic army or do you want an assaulty army? Maybe a combination of all of them?

So first go for what looks cool to your or you love the aesthetic. Then try to match that with your play style.

Look at Icewind Assault. Is that something that will intreats you since you mentioned Orgs and Mammoth.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Ogres are very strong right now. I've played them and they are fun, tough, fast, hit hard and look bad ass also.
