Hi guys ! My wife is starting Warhammer with me, and so she chose the Necrons for her 40K starter pack. She wants a list to know which units to buy next like me, but dont really know all the rules and tricks, so I wrote a list with her with the units of the starter pack and a few more that she's going to buy next. Now, I don't really know a lot about Necrons so I'm not sure how this list could play out in friendly battles at the local GW with different people, that's why I'm having it proof-read here !

Reclamation Legion

- 1 Overlord with Warscythe and Mindshackle Scarabs
- 5 Lychguards with Hyperphase Swords and Dispersion Shields

- 12 Warriors
- 5 Immortals with Gauss Blasters

- 3 Tomb Blades with Shieldvanes
- 1 Triarch Stalker with twin-linked Heavy Gauss Cannon

Canoptek Harvest

- 1 Spyder
- 3 Wraiths
- 6 Scarabs

Here goes ! I have no idea if there's enough Warriors in there, but she really wanted to take the Lychguards if possible so I dropped another 10 man unit and gave two more to the first unit so we could take them in. The Overlord would wander around with the Lychguards to slash everything that moves, while supported by the heavy fire from the Immortals and the Stalker.
I don't know Necrons that much, so I don't know if the Canoptek Harvest is nice or not, if someone could enlighten us that would be very nice

Thanks for reading !

Well if you wish to do the reclamation legion you must take 20 warriors minimum (2 squads of 10).

Also a Triarch Stalker does not fit there as it is not in the Reclamation Formation.

The Harvest I run and is brutal when played right so good choice on auxiliary just need to beef that spider unit to 3.

lychguard are good but at such a low points cost i would drop the 150 points and grab the 8 more guys and drop the mind-shackle on your overlord (most armies ignore fear these days).

Here is an idea for a list using what you have and what you are getting with what you have said up above.

Reclamation Legion - 565
Overlord - 160
War-scythe, Resurrection Orb, Night-shroud,

5 Lychguard - 125

10 Warriors - 130

10 Warriors - 130

5 Immortals - 85

3 tomb blades - 60
nebuloscopes

Canoptek Harvest - 309
1 Spyder - 60
Gloom Prism

3 Wraiths - 129
Whip coils

6 Scaraps - 120

2000pts
1500pts
4500pts
1000pts

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!

We are here to take back what is ours.

Ah crap I forgot about the two Warrior units indeed. It's a but difficult to adapt to the Decurion formation :p

And that list looks awesome, thanks ! I'll show it to her soon Thanks for your time !

Going off of darkhorse's list:
I would add a phase shifter to the overlord, this provides a bit more safety +25 points
You'll definitely want shields and swords on the lychguard, the invul save makes a huge difference +25 points
I'd put shield vanes on the tomb blades, 3+ armor means they don't have to jink as much +6 points
With the 7th edition rules to deny the witch, the gloom prism becomes a dead 10 points, I'd drop it -10 points
Drop a scarab to make room for the above changes as one at that unit side isn't the most important thing -20 points
Total: 995 points

After this, to continue growing the list, definately get a couple ghost arks and some more warriors. For a non-decurion list consider getting destroyers and a triarch stalker.

Agree with the phase shifter, shield vanes on TB and gloom prism.

If you already have a stalker, you could make a Retribution Phalanx, coupled with a harvest is fun to play at lower points games. Its not a standard build with just two formations instead of a CAD or decurion but it is fun, gives you a good idea of formation bonuses and cool rules.

Here's the list I made following the suggestions of Darkhorse19, and those of my wife, because it's her Necrons and her list after all :p:

- 1 Warlord with Warscythe, Resurrection Orb and Veil of Darkness
- 5 Lychguards with Hyperphase Swords and Dispersion Shields

- 10 Warriors
- 10 Warriors
- 5 Immortals with Gauss Blasters

- 3 Tomb Blades with Shieldvanes and Nebuloscopes

Canoptek Harvest

- 1 Spyder with twin-linked Particle Beamer
- 3 Wraiths with Whip Coils
- 5 Scarabs

I would still highly recommend taking the shade shifter and dropping everything on the spyder. Most of the time it is going to be running and not able to shoot. I'd only consider using the fabricator class if you have a while bunch of vehicles, even then it's iffy. But remember, it is your list and always up to you.

Another option is to do a CAD with the canoptek formation added on. This frees you up to be a little more creative and try out different units before buying a whole formation.
