Subject: If Lucius the eternal was resurrected after someone killed him, would there be two Lucius'?

As I was reading MrFrosty's thread about the best combattents of 40k Talizvar made the point that Lucius would win because anyone that beat him would become him, however Frosty made a rule that everyone was reserected after death so it was mearly their combat skill deciding the fight.
This got me thinking; if someone killed Lucius and therefore became him but someone else (most likely Fabius Bile) resurrected Lucius from his original corpse, would there then be two Lucius'?

I think that Lucius has one soul only, and even if a new body of Lucius was created/resurrected his souls is not there.

Could his soulless body then be possessed by a daemon? (Or other lost soul)

Probably. But if it was possessed by another soul then it wouldn't be Lucius, right? It would be someone/something else in Lucius's body.

Indeed. To be honest, it's an open question as to precisely how things work.
In answer to your question, if someone (like Bile) was able to save lucius (including dark eldar style resurrection) then I suspect you wouldn't turn into him, because you didn't "kill" him.
Equally, if the transformation has already occured, you wouldn't get lucius coming back as 'he' is already elsewhere; you'd just get a chaos spawn esque violent blob of protoplasm on a murder-rampage (so a "normal tuesday" down at Bile Laboratories, Inc.)
It also begs the question what happens if he's killed by something incapable of feeling pride. Like, say, a gun-servitor. Or a landmine. Or a rockfall.

Maybe if a gun servitude killed him the magos responsible would get possessed? Sidenote: He is still a superhuman, so it'd take quite a rockfall to do him in. He should be careful around minefields all the same.

The condition of becoming Lucius is that you, even for a moment feel pleased or proud that you did it.
If you did it purely out of self defense, accident or mercy, the line is broken.
That could affect things.

On the note of multiple Lucius, what if a Tank Crew kills him? Does only the gunner turn into Lucius? The whole crew could feel proud of it.

I'd imagine it works one of three ways:
1- The Warp being eternal and not bound by normal rules of temporal cause and effect, Lucius's soul stays in abeyance until his true body is resurrected. The person who killed him goes on blissfully unaware of how lucky they got.
2- Lucius's resurrection within his new host happens as normal. The resurrection fails, or instead produces a steaming pile of warp tainted meat. (Perhaps allowing some hideous warp entity an opportunity to enter the mortal realm)
3- Lucius's resurrection within his new host happens as normal. When the resurrection is performed, Lucius's soul transfers to the new body. His old body reverts to its former personality (if the host is extremely lucky) or collapses into a pile of steaming meat (more probable).

I agree with the "one soul" thing. The second Lucius would basically just be a spawn with a fancy power sword.
