I'm attempting to make a marble-like effect for part of the bases of my AoS Slaanesh force, however the first attempt hasn't really worked at all well. The next few I'm working on will have smoother lines to see if there's any difference but in the meantime are there any other suggestions as to how this could be altered to look at least slightly convincing?
Honestly, it's a nice looking glowy effect that looks like spirits or energy flowing, but it doesn't look like marble to me. Maybe start with a lighter base color? Here's a guide I like, maybe it'll help you get the desired technique down. It's not an effect I've quite got down, and the guide helped me a bit

Honestly, I have quit attempting to paint on marble any more after numerous failed attempts. Instead I now use clay. Here is the video that turned me on to it and it really sells the effect.
