Hello All,
I am in the early planning stages of my first set of DIY modular tiles. I am intending to make 6-8 24x24x.5" tiles with mounted foam landforms.
I am not sure what materials to use for the base tiles however; it seems like MDF is the standard, but I read about 1" thick MDF warping after applying certain glue, or simply due to humidity. Having that in mind, I would like to know if anyone has tried using a PVC, ABS or other synthetic base tile material.

Otherwise, what are your thoughts and precautions about warping tiles?

Plywood is more expensive but stronger and less prone to warping than MDF, that would be my recommendation.
