Correct me that I'm wrong. In Angels blade allow me to take any formation as a battleforged army. Could I just add Karlaen as a single model formation to any BA list as a warlord. His warlord trait is rerolls to all reserve rolls. It has no mention that it's only meant for his army or formation.

That isn't how it works. Karlaen can't be taken in an Angel's Blade. Period. You could take him in a CAD separate from the Angel's Blade and everything still gains the reroll on Reserves.

Well that isn't the worst scenario. Can karlaen be part of archangels demi company? Or that also forbidden? 1st company captain can't be the HQ for 1st company?

Nope, the formation doesn't allow it. Possibly the cherry on top of the gak sundae that is Angel's Blade. This book is, legitimately, frickin' terrible.

But in the story thats told its Karlaen fighting.. Rules errata where are you? Well we can always house tule such brain farts atleast in friendly games.

The really sucky bit is that in other publications state which named characters can be taken, but apparently Captain K didn't make the cut :/

Now if only they could be upgraded to automatically have his Warlord trait and Counterattack.
