Hi All!

Just wondering if anyone knows, does gaining the instant death special rule by being twice as strong as your opponent also ignore FNP, in the same way as a standard weapon with the Instant Death USR?

I'm also wondering, for assault result calculation, does it count as a wound if someone makes their FNP save? Because technically FNP is not a save, and the rules say that you add up the amount of inflicted wounds?

Sorry if this is obvious stuff, I'm somewhat of a noob.

Thanks!

This is covered in the Shooting phase section, at the end of the 'Allocate Wounds & Remove Casualties' step of the shooting sequence:

"Any Wound allocated to a model has the Instant Death special rule (see below) if the Strength value of that attack is at least double the Toughness value (after modifiers) of that model."

Basically there's only one Instant Death, whether granted by a weapon or model's special rule, or by having a Wound with allocated to a model with the attack's Strength value at least double the Toughness value of that model.

This is covered in the Feel No Pain rule, where it tells you to treat the Wound as having been saved if the roll is successful.
