Hey guys,

So I've wanted to do a Renegades and Heretics army for a while, and specifically I've had my eye on an Unending Host from the Renegades of Vraks sub-army list. The thought of having to paint up 120-180 miniatures to make a functional army is a bit daunting, though, to say the least, and so I'm wondering if I could maybe start with an army that's smaller in model count if not in points. Basically the plan with this list is to camp the Renegade Command Squad on an objective in the backfield while the Blood Slaughterers and Brass Scorpion rush forwards and keep the enemy tied down. The Renegade Grenadiers deep strike in to take objectives or shoot down troublesome targets at close range. Would this sort of list even work, I wonder?

(The point of playing R&H is not to have a low model count.)

It's a weak list.
This HQ build is a point sink that won't do much. Same thing with your troop choices. I understand the idea of having of low model count for a start, but in this case it means taking overcosted and underpowered units... You should consider artillery units instead. They are more ''expensive'' (though in fact they are a bargain) with fewer models and they are good units. Th HQ/warlord should always join an artillery unit. Otherwise he will die in turn 1 or 2.
Or play the CSM Cabal formation (345pts for 3 lv3 psykers). The sorcerers could boost the Scorpion, the Slaughterers or make your units invisible or shrouded.
In any case, invest as soon as possible (in terms of money and painting) in zombie units. Its one of the best unit in the game. (But it means not playing the Slaughterers, which do look good.)

It's good to see Renegade lists not just spamming artillery or cheap units. Let us know how you fared.

yea this type of list doesnt work for renegades. If you want to know how to play Renegades I highly recommend you join the Renegade Facebook group. There are plenty of lists and tatics discussed on there
