Tactically which best fits/helps Eldar, LP or VSG with 3 shields?

I have been using the VSG a lot lately and am pretty happy with it. however the shields can collapse and I have even had a fast army force me to move away and thus they benefitted from the shields.
The LP is cheaper, cannot be destroyed at all and can even prevent units from seeing something on top of it (specifically enemy units on the ground moving up cannot see units toward the rear of the LP as the barricades block LoS.

The benefit of the VSG is the protection from Alpha strikes, but the LP can provide that as well, just only 50% as good.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I would go with the launch pad, that 4++ will last no matter how many shots the enemy takes at you AND it protects your shooty units against assaulting units (Do you rule that a unit can move onto the skyshield if it has it's barricades up?).

I read the LP as being open terrain all the time, no matter if the shields are up or down, but it should be considered a level, so the 3-4" height should always be considered.
The fun thing stopping assaults is the LoS. you cannot charge a unit you cannot see, so if you are close enough to charge and on the ground, you are not likely to see the unit you wish to assault.

I think this is pretty much settling this for me. I really need to convert an Eldar LP

If you do make a cool conversion, be sure to show it off!

My first foray into terrain building was a webway portal to counts-as a skysheild landing pad.
Spoiler:

The top is about at the right height, and approximately the right size around (if you count the top lip area)

If you wanted to drag it to a tournament, building it a little closer to the actual specs would be needed.

I have played as an Eldar against a Void shield and I didn't had trouble bringing the shields down and blowing it to bits on round 1. My army composition helped a lot but I really understand the usage of it against alpha strike armies. With the current VSG nerf against grav cannons I don't think it will provide the same amount of safety it did. On the other hand the LP most attractive feature without me having used it yet is the fact that it will block LOS with just the height different it provides. Not taking cost into account I think I would go for LP.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

The only thing in favor the VSG is the wider coverage. You can actually fit your entire army within it's range.
I also play an Eldar-converted GK NSF with 2 DK Wraithlords riding Vyper jetbikes. The DKs do not have the range to sit on the platform and wait; they need to get closer.
The LP has to be deployed wholly within my deployment, so if the DKs want to move close, that don't benefit from it.

On the flip side, I prefer the Wraithcannon WK, so having a 4++ while it pew-pews will be nice.
And the LP definitely helps Scatterbikes more. I'll have to see if the LP can take Barricades when I get home to my book. Would be nice to add 1-2 Barricades next to the Pad.

I am gonna make sure my LP conversion matches that VSG conversion I have:

It would be cool to place it on top of the LP (even though I don't think that's possible) just to have a cool Eldar "mega-structure"
