A good watch indeed. The choice of advertiser was hilarious. Hillary did not seem too impressed.

"How does President Obama like his coffee? Like himself? Weak?"

Okay Zach. That's pretty damn funny

That was damn funny. "weak", "email?" "white power tie'.

Well worth the ~5 minutes.

That was hilarious. Thanks for making all my coworkers stare at me while I cracked up at work.

Substantially funnier than when Obama appeared.

Obama had the one joke about a third term being like a third Hangover movie, but that's honestly all I can remember from that one.

"How does it feel to the last black president of the United States?" THAT was the best line.

I always wonder (and this goes back to the Colbert Report), if people go onto these shows expecting there to be any seriousness to it, or if they know its going to be jokes somewhat at their expense and just pretend like they thought it was going to be serious.

Is that just me?

I think the assumption is they know what's going on beforehand, although I'm not 100% sure in the case of the Michael Cera one.

This one, the opening with the mask thing, screamed staged. She knew what was going on, and played along.

There's one with Natalie Portman that is three minutes of painful cringe. However, she's a very good actress, so it could still be staged.

According to the show's producers, it's mostly unstaged, with Galifianakis' jokes unknown to the guest.

It's also why the show's producers say they'll never do an interview with Trump - in their words, he's too thin-skinned.

I think it's staged in the sense that the guests know it's going to be ridiculous but I don't think that's they get a script or anything.

I know with Colbert, he would give the guest a rundown out of character in the green room before the show started and he would tell them "not to let him get away with anything." Of course, some people were better at it than others.

And some, I assume, are good people."

Unfortunately, most of Galifianakis' jokes are unknown to the world of comedy also.
Jokes are intended to be funny.

He isn't. He ranks in the pantheon of unfunny alongside Steve Carell, Will Ferrell and BenOwen WilStillerson.

Staged. Clinton laughed too hard when Zach said he was paid in steaks, and they apparently had to refilm that joke.

Welllll.... Will Ferrell is funny inconsistently, Ben Still has not been genuinely funny in a long time, and I honestly am not sure, looking over his IMDB page, that I ever found Owen Wilson to be funny.

I think it's an American thing, I find those guys have had funny moments at times, but not consistently funny like many others. They seem to lack wit to me.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Zack Gal. but I didn't find this interview funny, didn't think it was terribly well executed, scripted or edited. :shrugs:
