So Im making a Fallen Warband, originaly I was going to use chaos codex, however since I dont like hellbrute models but really love all the dreagnout models I decided to use Dark Angels Codex instead. Question is, hellbrutes count has elites and I can onlyu have 3. Dreagnouts However are veicles and since Im kinda new (Been getting my army started for 6 months but only started playing 3 weeks ago) I dont really know the rules verywell. Ive been reading the rulebook and both chaos and darkangels codex, but cant find that info.

They still count as Elites.

You see the little skull-cross thing in the top left? That means it's an elite.

It has reference for this in the BRB.

Every unit has a battlefield role - troops, elite, etc.

Vehicle is a Unit Type.

Yeah, you can have Vehicles in the Elites slot.

There are two real classifications: what Role the unit is (HQ, Elites, Troops, Fast Attack, and Heavy Support, plus a few others), and what Unit Type it is (Infantry, Vehicle, Jump Infantry, Bike, Jetbike, Jet Infantry, Monstrous Creature, etc etc.)

You've looked at it's Unit Type, but it is also in the Elites Role. So no, only three Dreadnoughts can be taken in a CAD, and that's if nothing else is occupying any Elites slots.

However, there is probably a Formation which would let you take more Dreadnoughts, if a DA player could find that?

Pedro31: there is a page before the first unit entry that details how to read the unit entries(it has a sample unit entry: one of the named characters I believe) with a bunch of numbers in each section of the entries explaining what those numbers correspond to. It is an often overlooked page, you should read it before even assembling your first model(not just you, everyone).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
