these are WIP still, so no harsh judgements, and the final pictures will be much nicer than these! promise!





Still have 5 more to finish up detail work on, and then do up the bases with snow/grass.

here is a bit better of a picture, still not finished photo quality, but the model is about 95%, all that's left is the basing.



These are all commission work, so once they're done i'll probably never see them again ^_^, so i take plenty of pictures to document everything and help me study techniques and such.

Nice work. Oaka does similar tatoo markings on his kroot as well. The blue contrasts quite nicely with the orange you ahve used on these models.

looks good. the blue markings are a great contrast for that orange skin. still remind me of braveheart though.

my one quibble is the base. Snow AND grass?!?!?! Is it winter or not?

I don't see any grass. It looks just like turf to me.

I don't see a problem with that. I see snow on the grass here in Arkansas practically every year. We'll go through a warm spell late in the winter, making all the plants think its spring. The flowers bloom, and then it snows again. So he even could put a couple of blooming crocuses on those bases and still look realistic. And that's not even having to resort to the "anything could happen on an alien world" excuse.

Looks like a typical late winter/early spring snow to me...

i did that for a friends devilfish(including a small conversion here and there) and i just asked how much he is willing to pay.got 20francs out of it,some painting practise (got a lot better and highlighting,edging and doing in cracks in the hull,the horizontal stripes across the hull and weathering) so im quite glad.Might be making one of his piranhas too...

how much do you charge for painting services ?

I'm getting $210 for this squad of 12.  I've done another squad for the same guy that i picked up 180 for, they were white fire warriors (some of you might remember them). 

I still have 5 more to go for the painting bitz, hopefully i can do them up tomorrow during work ^_^.

As for bases, I'm giving them the melted frost feel, so grass poppin out makes sense ^_^

I also got the idea for the markings from Orka's kroot ^_^, the client and i were looking through dakka together and he really liked it, so i thought i'd take it one step further and really contrast the two colors a whole lot.  I'm very pleased with them, but that first figure took forever to work out all the colors. 

probably some of the best Kroot I've seen. Could you tell me how you painted the orange?
