I had a great battle and really want to share this!

Mission:

- Vanguard strike
- Primairy mission: The emperors Will
- secundary mission: Deadlock
- Tertiary mission: first blood, slay the warlord, linebreaker, detachment killer, titan killer

Tanks Tanks Tanks.... !

A lot of of leman russes, barrage shooters and a few chimeras + guards.

DEPLOYMENT

I deploy my whole deathstar army behind the defence line in my deploymentzone. I got the "Gate" and "sanctuary" but also two weirdboyz that can do sum summoning. Mogrok can give d3 units outflank - acute senses and I roll a 5, so thats 3 grot units coming from the side. I also deploy 3 grot units behind the defence line on top of the objective counters and place the remaining grot unit in reserve.



(See the enemies hamburger? Try to claim that objective but I failed...

On the other side of the battle field, a whole carpark is facing my direction.



I also got +1 seize (strategic warlord trait with the thinking kapp) so thats a 4+ seize for Mogrok, but I don't need it because I can go first anyway...

FIRST TURN ORK:

Tournament rules will only let you claim max two tactical objectives each turn, and I can pull this off each turn with my grots. All these tanks got a lot of shooting so I have to go in fast and hard.
I use the gate to get close but keeping a safe distance to prevent a deep strike mishap. I scatter 7 inch towards the army and got a perfect position in front of the enemies army.



I make sure that my mega armor characters are in the front to absorb all the shooting. One of my weirdboyz got the vortrex blast power And I make sure he's within 12 inch of sum juicy tanks. First I cast "sactuary" and then I use the vortrex power. Not a lot of Ork armies playing in tournaments these days so imagine the surprise on the enemies face when I cast a Vortrex blasts in the middle of his carpark! "the got both Daemonology powers?????" 2 peril wounds but nothing the cant handle ..



My vortrex blast scatters but still hits a Leman russ tank. it loses 3 hullpoints and thats my first blood.

In the shooting face I try to shoot down another tank with my loota's (slow and purposefull) but the suck and do nothing.

My grots claim both objectives in/near my deploymentzone.




FIRST TURN ASTRA MILITARIUM

I was really looking forward to see my vortrex blast tear another tank to shreds, but it scatters towards the only nearby place outside the carpark.

He is not stupid so he tries to take down my Mek with 4+ force field (with sanctuary thats a 3+ inv save against shooting) and he's got the tools to do it. d3, S10 indirect large blast can really make a impression...



Ugh, that hurts!!!

But I still got Mad dok and with my big mega armor characters with rerolls (lucky stick + mogrok warlord trait, kunning but brutal) and feel no pain I still got good amount of orks standing tall.

He moves his guard unit + empty chimera towards my deployment zone at the top of the battlefield. He tries to make his move towards my Emperor's will objective.

ORK SECOND TURN

My vortrex blast scatters towards the d3, S10, indirect large blast tank (deathstrike missiles tank?) And another (leman russ) tank. It takes down the leman russ tank and gets a 'shaken' result on the deathstrike tank and thats good enough for me!


My outflanking grots are revealing themselves at the side of the enemies deployment zone. But dont really do a lot in the remaining turns.

My remaining ork deathstar unit moves towards his tanks because I'am planning on doing a multi charge.



Not a lot of valid psychic power options with my remaining weirboyz so I cast sancuary (6+ inv save is better than nothing) and also summon a unit daemonettes and let them run and hide in the fortress terrain.



My daemonettes are threatening his rogue chimera tank (see picture) so thats another target he has to worry about.

Assault phase: I need my 'er we go' reroll but i pull it off! Multi assault with a unit of 2 leman russ tank unit, another single leman russ, and the guard unit.



I take down 2 leman russ tanks and the guard unit. On of these leman russ tanks got the plasma cannon weapons so it's a good thing its dead because that means it's going to be really hard to take down my mega armor bosses.

ASTRA MILITARIUM SECOND TURN

My vortrex grenade scatters towards his other indirect fire tank (large blasts with shred) and kills it with a 6 result! This is so awesome! (tank behind the bunker so you cannot see it on the picture..)

But theirs still a lot of shooting and I lose everything except my mega armor characters.



He also kills 9 out of 10 daemonettes with a lot of lasguns and moves the chimera towards objective two/my deployment zone.

His Engineseer assaults my mogrok warlord and got a few good rolls with his poweraxe. It dies but takes my warlord with him to hell!!

ORK THIRD TURN

My vortrex disappears of the table (about time)...

I move thraka towards a guard unit midfield and my lucky stikk warboss towards the guard unit thats standing on top of his Emperors Will objective.


My single daemonette cannot reach the chimera but i let my runtherd+ grots assault to see if I can nock off a cheap hullpoint.

I got a six for AP so thats a single hullpoint. My other grot units move towards my own Emperors will objective to make sure that the chimera cannot claim this objective next turn (objective secured).

Warboss + thraka fight with the guard units. The guard lose combat but don't fail their morale test so thats a good thing!

ASTRA MILITARUM THIRD TURN.

He tankshocks his chimera towards my emperors will objective.



He doesn't got a lot left so he tries to shoot down my grots in my own deployment zone with his deathstrike missles. Theirs a good chance I am going to claim his emperors will objective and maybe he can scare away my grots and let his chimera claim my emperors will objective. But his Large blasts scatters away from my grots and hits his chimera . Its only a single blast and only takes off one hullpoint but it still sucks (for him... ).

In the assault phase My warboss + thraka take down the remaining guard units.

ORK FOURTH TURN.

Thraka moves towards the emperors will objective and my warboss charge the remaining deathstrike tank. two grot units charge the chimera and take down the remaining hull point.


ASTRA MILITARUM FOURTH TURN

He got a remaining enginseer and tries to kill my warboss in close combat but fails.

THE END...

In the end I got the primairy objective + tertiary objective and he's got a +1 with tactical objectives, So thats a 15-5 win for me...

Great report and fantastic list, I would love to see more adventures of the Deathskulstar.
