Very simply, do infantry units consolidate after destroying a walker? Say a SM Vanguard Veteran squad destroys a Chaos Helbrute in CC. Do the veterans consolidate?

Are you sure? Walkers are vehicles and don't grant permissions for units to consolidate against them (walkers do however have permissions to consolidate against non-vehicle units)
