How do you prefer, white on the inside/bottom fading to yellow, then orange, them possibly brown on the tips of the flames?
Example: check out the flames next on either side of the Palanquin:

I personally think that starting with white in the recesses and drybrushing the yellow, then orange, looks the most like real fire.

Or bright orange in the recesses with the white as a highlight?
Example: see the flames coming out of there hands:

But there is something to be said about this method (basically washing the darker colors into the white), specifically for "ethereal" or magical fire.

Option 1 for me. I think the tips could be even darker.

Oldie, but a goodie

Yeah that looks great!

I am trying to figure out how to paint some Daemon Fury/ Flamer conversions using AoS Spirit Hosts. I know I want them to be an Aqua greenish-blue, but I am torn on which technique to use. All my other Daemon flames are painted with option B, but I think they would look good with option A.

Look at real fire. It's white where it is hottest and cools through yellow to orange.

If you do it wrong your brain will know it's not fire but if you do it right your brain is willing to accept it is to represent fire.

Oh definitely real fire is best done with option A, white/yellow on the inside, orange/brown on the edges.

But magical fire is something different, especial fire from the Warp. It's also easier to paint since you can start white and put a few washes over it.
However, I do find myself leaning towards the "real fire" technique. The Spirit Hosts are typically painted with the edges lighter, so doing the reverse should make them look unique.
Plus, they are going to be Furies / Flamers, so having an ethereal inner glow might look interesting.
