Subject: Trixy questions! M36

Hey everyone, as suggested in my intro post, I have a question to ask. I put it in this because I figure that m36 is closer to 40 than 30 lol!
So I read that the story of two heads talking could have taken place around m36, so basically the time when the DA 1st company became the deathwing and started painting their armour bone white. I wanted to make a diorama from this story but what I can't figure out is what the DA from that time used in terms of tactical dreadnought armour. Any help with this would be epic!!!
Thanks and much love <33

Thanks, I want to make this as accurate as possible. I'm not sure if it's worth looking for a omega space hulk terminators to use in this diorama.

In the illustrations that accompanied the original short, the Deathwing all wore Invictus-pattern armour. (Or so we now call it.) So the simple answer would be to use GW's standard plastic terminators.
Bear in mind, however, that Bill King's story was written in the 40k setting's infancy, and has been retconned to be in-universe an allegorical, but not strictly true, tale of the Deathwing's origins. So for a more complex answer, you might chose to imagine how the Dark Angels' initiates picture their honoured forebears.

Also note that Ghosar Quintus - which was....what? early M40? Was supposed to be the Imperium's first contact with a stealer cult.
Certainly the original artwork for Tale of Two Heads Talking used 'modern' Invictus terminator plate.

On the other hand we are talking about the 1st Legion. They're the ones, having all the best toys, so they've could have a large ammount of older armour variants.

See i would have thought that because it was m36 it wouldn't have been the normal invictus pattern armour. But maybe that's the better way to go. I did order some of the original termies and hybrids from the deathwing expansion to see if I could work them in somehow.

Or it could be modern dark angels with modern equipment depicting the event in ceremonial remembrance, the same way Catholics practice the stations of the cross.
