Can anyone tell me the most detailed way to paint the Black dragons space marine chapters symbol accurately, all mine look like blobs

The greatest weapon is the brain, (no, I don't mean you take it from your head and hit someone with it)

A thin brush, I have only done one thus far and it was not the best either, still need to do about five, the shouder is not that bad but the fine detail on the chest is a headache. Left the aquila on the ones I need to do now instead of the intricate dragon motive, I tried paintin the area white and using carbon paper to trace it...but without much succces

Here's a pick of one that I did, did not come out too good either, post a pick or two and let's see what you came up with, the chest is a mess the shoulder is kinda ok, disregard the golden pouldren as its a chapter I'm busy with.

I'm also battling, thin brush and lotsd of time, have five more to do, the chest Is almost impossible to get right the pouldron a bit easer. Disregard the right pouldren, its my chapter sign.

Something that might help you out, instead of trying to free hand it with a paint brush, I would try a micron pen, in whatever color you are wanting, and pen it in like a drawing, then if you need to , use a brush to fill it in. Might be easier to do that way, but unsure, since never done it myself. Just an idea that came to me.

Another option. Don't paint it, use waterslide transfers or other decals. Not sure if GW makes them for that chapter, but if not, looking on the internet, there appears to be several different options for do-it-yourself or custom ordering. This will work for the shoulders, but probably not for the guy across his chest though.
Edited thought: actually, if you smoothed the chest plate of any skulls/aquillas/what-have-you, and kept the decal entirely on the plate, it'd probably work for that too.

Freehanding is a dark magic and I'm convinced that those guys you see painting murals on their banners sacrifice a goat off camera every time they pick up a brush. Micron Pens are good though.
