I'm going to arrange these in a roughly similar pattern to your question, so here's some things that I know about the Blood Angels Legion:
Organisation: Their companies are 400 battle-brothers strong, but their squad designations and organisation within the company are very similar to any other legion
Beliefs: They really like Sanguinius? They drink their brothers blood to strengthen their brotherhood and they keep a small amount of their fallen brothers' blood in a small phial to honour their memory.
Changes Sanguinius Made: He established the Sanguinary Guard to serve as his bodyguard but apart from that I don't know.
Baal/Terran Conflict: There is no reference to it in the fluff that I have read, so I suppose we can assume that the two planet's people joining went smoothly.
Old Earth Culture: They appear to have a biblical theme going on that switches between classic gospel and Roman Christian. This mostly comes through in how they name things (The Day of Revelation being their first attack in a war of belief is a good example) and how they go about their business of war (burning the unbelievers and showing mercy to those who repent/switch beliefs)
So they weren't quite vanilla (not as vanilla as say, the Imperial Fists), not that being vanilla is a bad thing (I mean, the Imperial Fists are pretty cool), but they have yet to have major legion lore published (which will probably come when they get their legion-specific units) but there are still differences to standard Legions in there.
