Depends on whether or not you get them for free and what the rest of your army is like

Generally most people believe the las plas option is the best overall. You can get upto 3 shots within 12 inches, 2 of them str7, 1 str 9 and all three ap2.

My belief is that it depends on what the rest of your army is good at. Imperial Fists have rerolls for bolters and heavy bolters, so I'd kit out my infantry with those and go twinlinked lascannon on the rbacks.

Salamanders can have twinlinked meltaguns army wide, so I'd kit the infantry and support units to be anti-tank, with meltas and multimeltas, and then put tiwn linked heavy bolters on the rbacks for anti-horde.

That being said, the las plas option does all of those pretty decently.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

To save points the base heavy bolter is not bad at all. With small tac squad inside, I take a grav gun, they are great units to advance and take objectives.

Assault cannons are the best all rounders and las/plas if you intend to play ranged. Just remember that the points can add up quick.

Assault cannons and las plas IMO are your real options.
