I'm looking to start a Nid project so here's what I'm thinking, then I'll post my questions.

I want to base the army off of a "ambush predator" theme. Mostly Lictors, Genestealers, maybe Hormagaunts. Things that have ways of sneaking around, enjoy cover, and just smash in close combat.

I want everything to have the same type of head, so I'm thinking Venomthrope for the Lictors and Ymgarl heads for the stealers and Horms.

I want them to look Tyranid for certain, but the paint scheme to be after Aliens. I will then paint their tendrils/tentacles with a liquid venomous green, same for the eyes.

I would love to find bases to stick to the theme, maybe industrial or the inside of a space ship, or alien like their hives.

So my biggest question is, does anyone have any real tutorials on how to achieve this paint scheme and do you know of any of the bases or maybe some customized parts that would go into this army?
