Hello, so my local GW is having a tourny soon so this is not like a Vegas tourny or something like that, but there is many competitive lists. (Necrons, Eldar, Ad Mech, Marines etc) I have Space Marines, Grey Knights and Deathwatch and I want to bring my Deathwatch this year. Here is my list, any thoughts to make this more hardcore? ++ Deathwatch: Codex (2016) (Formation Detachment) (1850pts) ++ + Formation (1850pts) + Black Spear Strike Force (1850pts) Watch Master (Base) ····Aquila Kill Team (310pts) Drop Pod ) [Storm Bolter] Librarian [Mastery Level 1, Terminator Armour Veteran Grav-gun ·Veteran[Grav-gun Veteran [Grav-gun Veteran [Grav-gun Watch Sergeant [Chainsword, Grav-pistol ····Aquila Kill Team (295pts) Drop Pod [Storm Bolter] Librarian [Mastery Level 1, Terminator Armour Veteran [Deathwatch Shotgun] Veteran [Deathwatch Shotgun] Veteran with Heavy Weapon Infernus Heavy Bolter Veteran with Heavy Weapon Infernus Heavy Bolter Veteran with Heavy Weapon Infernus Heavy Bolter ····Aquila Kill Team (340pts) Black Shield) [Lightning Claw ), Lightning Claw Vanguard Veteran [Lightning Claw ( Lightning Claw Vanguard Veteran (35pts) [Lightning Claw , Lightning Claw Veteran [Replace Weapons with Heavy Thunder Hammer Veteran [Replace Weapons with Heavy Thunder Hammer Veteran [Replace Weapons with Heavy Thunder Hammer Watch Sergeant [Combi-plasma , Power Weapon ····Aquila Kill Team (310pts) Drop Pod [Storm Bolter] Librarian [Mastery Level 1] ············Power Armour [Bolt Pistol] Veteran [Meltagun Veteran [Meltagun Veteran with Heavy Weapon [Deathwatch Frag Cannon Veteran with Heavy Weapon [Deathwatch Frag Cannon Veteran with Heavy Weapon [Deathwatch Frag Cannon ····Dropship (200pts) ········Corvus Blackstar [Blackstar Cluster Launcher, Ceramite Plating, Infernum Halo Launcher , Twin-linked Blackstar Rocket Launcher , Twin-linked Lascannon] ····Veterans (110pts) Veteran ( [Deathwatch Shotgun] x5 ····Veterans (110pts) Veteran [Deathwatch Shotgun] x5

Happy to help, but the list is very hard to read... try removing all the extra stuff people don't need to see (rules, base points -- actually aren't allowed to show this as per dakka rules, base unit stuff, all the ..... etx.).. may generate more responses that way.
(i.e. maybe format it simply, or something like this)
Furor Killteam
Veterans (5) - shotgun x4, frag cannon x1, drop pod
Aquila Kilteam
Veterans (10) - stalker pattern boltgun x5, bolter x4, sgt. w/melta bombs
Covus Blackstar - infernum halo launcher

Damn dude. That is a LOT of heavy thunder hammers. Maybe a bit of overkill? Same with the Grav, unless you plan on seeing a ton of MC.

I have similar thought about it, Though it is obvious that this Smashy Squad is going in with the Dropship which solved the mobility problem. But any decent MCs will destroy them before those Hammers gets to swing. So I suggest the loadout to be change into 2 HTH on Veteran, 1 TH/ SS on Veteran, 2 LC/ SS on Vanguard, Black shield take LC/ PF combo, Sarge take LC/ SS as well.

Ok, so a few things (thanks for the cleaner format... much easier to parse!): - At 1850, just 2 units in pods on the table to start is going to be hard to survive with... but that may be just the nature of this army, since things are so darn expensive! - Some nice things about this formation are the deepstriking potential for every unit, and also the ability to take it without much of a "tax". - I do think that the Beacon Angelis pairs well with this formation though, especially since you can bring it on the same turn you "jump things to it" in a sense. That being said, maybe you have a CAD as well, giving you some more models to start on the table, and also allow for the cool "harassing units" that they get... like a unit of 2 bikes in a unit, or a single TH/SS terminator as a unit, etc. Filling out the force CAD's org with small units like that could be nice... specifically looking at the bikes and termies there. That aside, maybe some stalker pattern boltguns on the min sized squads as the troops? Another thing, you've really gonna need more bodies, so you'll have to drop some of the upgrades I think. Perhaps you take melta/combi-melta weapons for anti-tank, and mix just two frag cannons in with other units for anti-infantry? I like the Furor Killteam with shotguns and frag cannons, and heavy flamer terminator... that's a pretty nice anti-troop unit! Also consider a Venerator Killteam of 5 bolter dudes, and 5 bikes... you can deepstrike that for a LOT of shots, and it's majority T5... peel off the regular bodies as wounds first to keep this, but also remember that you can put the bikes on the outside for their jink save! (this is a really nice bare-bones unit) As for the Corvus Blackstar, be careful you don't mix the re-rolling jinking upgrade (useful if its a delivery device) with the template weapon upgrade (useful for hordes), because you won't be able to shoot it if you've jinked! I find taht if you are NOT using it as a transport for assault troops (in that case you want the halo launchers), take the auspex array, don't jink, then load-up on weapons. YMMV though. In the end, I think you are gonna need some allies to help you stand your ground until the deathwatch arrive... so perhaps ally with Knights or normal marines or something? Just a thought. Hope some of that helps!

Don't take infernus bolters- I know they're cool, but as this is a competitive thing, frag cannons are just insanely better for five points.
The hammers in the black star is another cool unit, but you're spending over 500 points on something that will only become relevant on turn 3 in the best case scenario, and will never be relevant in the worst case. Also, it's likely that the unit will kill a single thing and then be annihilated. Also, you spend ten points on a combi- plasma that you will likely never get to fire if you want to charge.

Yea, I think you are right about the Allies, This army is just too hard to keep alive without them. I do love the idea of that Venerator kill team, I never even thought about those jink saves in front, pretty cheap too!
