So I've come up with an "interesting" idea for a list and wanted to see what people thought. The core concept of the list is to lower
LD so that I can leverage psychic shriek to tear apart the enemy army.
Masque Detachment
1x Shadowseer (level 2 with Mask of Secrets, knows Telepathy)
1x Shadowseer (level 2 knows Telepathy)
1x Shadowseer (level 2, knows Phantasmancy)
1x Shadowseer (level 2, knows Phantasmancy)
1x Death Jester
1x Death Jester
1x Death Jester
5x Harlequin Troope (equipped with Embraces in Starweaver)
10x Harlequin Troope (equipped with Embraces)
9x Harlequin Troope (equipped with Embraces)
2x Skyweavers (Haywire Canons)
2x Skyweavers (Haywire Canons)
1x Voidreaver (default kit)
Eldar CAD
1x Spirit Seer (Telepathy)
5x Rangers
5x Rangers
1x Hemock Wraithfighter (knows Telepathy)
1x Hemlock Wraithfighter (knows Telepathy)
The concept for the army is pretty simple. The goal is to use defensive powers (Shrouding, Invisibility if I have them (likely) and Veil of Tears.) in conjunction with Hallucinogen grenades and the Death Jesters to pin as many units as possible then hopefully on turn to bring as many leadership reducers into their line as possible (the Wraithfighters and Shadowseer with Masque hopping out of the Starweaver) then use Psychic Shrieks to tear the enemy army apart followed up with a Harlequin assault to clean up.
As I see it the list has a few major weaknesses:
1. Fearless: While the psychic powers themselves do not actually care if the enemy is fearless the pinning shooting abilities wont work so I will stand to take more damage vs Fearless armies
2. Hordes: The army lacks the ability to kill weak enemies in mass.
3. Tanks: While I did include Skyweavers and the Voidreaver with Haywire specifically to hunt tanks an army that is very heavy on vehicles will pose a problem. (not common in my meta but I do see Gladius Rhino hordes from time to time)
4. Mass Fire: If my defensive abilities don't work out I have a very small army that is T3 and 5+ save, its gonna melt to mass fire.
5. Lack of Obsec outside of Rangers who won't be going after objectives
Personally, I feel like it would be a really fun army to play, its certainly not going to be uber competitive but I don't think it would be super weak either.
Any feedback would be great, thanks! (and let me know if I've done anything "illegal" im just getting back into
40k so am still a bit wobbly with all the rules)
