We are proud to announce an ITC league and Tournament schedule is forming at ABU Games! ABU has a great space for events and has gone all in on terrain and Fat Mats for their gamers. Myself and Matt think this venue would be a great place to forge the ITC scene in the Treasure Valley and are excited to be a part of it.
Starting off we are announcing the monthly ITC Leage and open gaming. Thursdays is Warhammer night at ABU and more tables will be set up to accommodate all players. We will be using the ITC format for the most part, but will mix it up with other scenarios in preparation for local and area events.
Details:
Place: ABU Games
Time: 6:30pm? 7pm?
Day: Every Thursday at ABU Games
Entry: $10 for the month which 100% will go to prizes in the form of store credit.
Format: 1850 – ITC Missions
Start Date – October 6th
How the League Works – Show up on Thursdays to get your game in. You will be paired with an opponent so don’t have to set things up ahead of time. If you can’t make it that week, you can do make up games in the store. Myself and Matt will be running and playing in the league, using Warscore for pairing purposes.
Prizes – All the money for entry fees goes to the prize pool. To keep the cutthroat out of it, we will be doing a raffle system for prizes. There will be a Best General, Best Sports, Best Paint, and Best Overall each month, and those winners will receive extra raffle tickets. For each game you get 2 raffle tickets for winning, one raffle ticket for losing, and one for each if there is a tie. Prizes will be in the form of store credit.
Other items of note:
1. Have fun! This is the primary purpose of the league. A weekly night to get a casual competitive game in. Bring your good attitude as bad ones won’t last at the league.
2. Improve your skillz. The ITC League will be a great place to discuss lists, what went right in your games, and what didn’t.
3. Try new things. Proxying will be ok, as long as your opponent is ok with it. 40k is expensive and there are so many combos in it. Being able to try new formations, detachments, and army lists is a key part of the ITC league. With ABU’s 10% off, you can be sure to find something that will work for your army.
4. Prepare for events. We will be prepping for events like the LVO, Storm of Silence, DMB Brawl, and other area events.
5. Local tournament build up! We are planning on one day RTT’s at about once every other month, and one larger GT during each year.
We hope to see many of you there. If you have ever heard about the ITC and want to give it a try, this is the place for you. If you want to get better as a player, being able to take hard lists with no shame, this is the place for you! Casual and competitive are welcome as we are trying to find ways to encourage all aspects of the hobby. We hope to see you there, starting October 6th at ABU Games.
