Hi there,

Just wondering if I can get people's opinion on something.

A friend of mine plays Dark Angels and likes to use the Ravenwing strike force detachment/formation. He played a game recently where he automatically brought on his Ravenwing force on turn 2 and decided to outflank. He wanted to bring his bikers next to his Darkshroud to benefit from the cover save/jink bonus it gave them. However, his opponent made him roll the dice for each separate unit in his RW strike force to see what side of the table they would come on at. Due to this, his Darkshroud ended up arriving on one side of the table and his bikers nowhere near it on the opposite side.

Is this correct? Would each individual unit in the RW strikeforce detachment have to roll outflank dice separately? Or would just one dice for outflank be rolled and the entire formation arrives on that side of the table together?

I wasn't able to answer him so thought that I would put it to you guys. I have a feeling that he would have to roll outflank dice for each individual unit, much like the flyer would arrive from the controlling players table edge instead of whatever side of the table the rest of the formation outflanked onto. Wanted to double check though.

Many thanks in advance!

Each unit outflanks separately. His opponent was correct.

Just like each unit can choose to outflank or not each unit has to arrive on it's own.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming.

It's really frustrating when your dark shroud gets left on the wrong side of the battle
