Hey all! I'd like to know what the community thinks of my list I have for an upcoming game vs my #1 opponent who plays Tau. Were looking at a Maelstrom Mission of some sort. I'll list the units and a brief tactical breakdown after:
BA Lost Brotherhood Strikeforce
Command: Lost Brotherhood
Lemartes
Core:
DC Chaplain - Guilded Crozius, digital weapons
3x squads of 5 Death Company - bolter & PF, 4 BP and Chainsword (each squad)
Auxiliary: 10th Company Ambush Force
3x squads of 5 Scouts - Combi-Grav, 4 BP & CC weapons (each squad)
Oathsworn Detachment
Knight Errant - Stormspear Rocket Pod, Meltagun, Thermal Cannon
Skitarii Maniple
10 Skitarii Vanguard - Refractor Field, Omnispex
2 squads of 5 Rangers - Omnispex, 1 Transuranic Arqebus (each squad)
Ok, I built this to help cover objectives and to use some skitarii models that I have since they can put out some shots, and threaten a good amount units with their vanilla guns. Pretty much everything has scout, so I will (hopefully) have options in regards to cover while break line of sight from the OP shooting of Tau.
The scouts will infiltrate and scout in hopes to gang up on a riptide or a squad of broadsides with their combi-gavs. If anything, a few wounds on the riptide will make my opponent play a bit more defensively.
The Knight will pack some melta shots into obvious blobs of troops or transports/heavy armor he brings - while also claiming objectives in the back/mid field. The 2 squads of rangers will spread out and try to cover objectives as well.
I worry I may not have enough melta equivalent shots. I am open to suggestions. I hate playing tau and I haven't figured out a list that allows me to "have fun" just yet. Don't get it twisted, I don't need to win, but I don't want it to feel as if I have not shot what so ever - which is usually how it goes.
Thanks all!
