Does anyone else use them, or at least see the value in them if you have extra points?
I only own 2 Hornets and will probably never get more (FW stuff is not easy for me to come by), but I see tons of lists with 2x2 or even units of 3.
These never have Holofields. I understand that they only have 2HPs and can Jink, then move Flat out to Snap-fire with their special rule, but if I am using 2 units of 1 Hornet, Holofields are tempting

I always equip my Grav-Tanks with Holofields and they come in handy often. For now though, I am keeping my single Hornets cheap and using cover, but I keep looking at Holofields if I need to fill 30 extra points in a list.

i own 4, depending on situation its 2 squads of 2, or just bringing that 3 hornet formation (hornet swarm i think) that lets you jink yet still fire at full BS that turn. At 80 points each they are good value, at 95 each i prolly wouldnt bring as many but if you have 30 points to burn, why not.

The only tank i put holofields on are my lone warp hunter.

I find Flickerfields invaluable on my Venoms so I'd certainly take Holofields on Hornets.

I cant say enough good things about Hornets. I have 4 currently and I am seriously thinking about expanding to 6 to field two units of 3. On regular games I field 2 (2 different units) and they always make their points back. For just 80 points a piece they are a mean little eldar machine.

I don't really like Holofields on anything. That ++5 just doesn't cut it for me. I prefer to either avoid enemy firepower all together by staying far enough or to jink if necessary. Hornets in particular can keep their distance with the 48" range of the pulse laser and they are small enough to hide if needed.

On the Falcon from which I field two on regular games I would consider holofields if I have points left but I usually go with spirit stones.

Anyway get more Hornets mate they are golden right now.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

That's what I keep thinking too. Hornets are basically Venoms that trade Transport capacity, open-topped & splinter cannons for AV11 & Pulse lasers. But by adding Holofields, they become 50% more expensive (65pts up to 95). Of course, back when Ravagers could take Flickerfields, there was never a question that it was worth taking, and Pulse Laser Hornets are much closer to Dark Lance Ravagers

I'd like to put HFs on the Hornets, but most of my lists don't have the spare points. I take a Landing Pad or VSG in most games, so does that change the need for Holofields?
With the range of Pulse lasers, it is quite easy to put them on the Landing Pad and shoot any target I need to shoot, but it makes them more static, which is not a trait that Hornets should have.
Plus, I might not be able to fit them on the Landing Pad since it is best to put my WK & main unit if Scatterbieks up there.
But again, I also take Barricades with either Fortification and the Hornets are low enough (the came with the shortest flight stand for some reason) to gain a 4+ cover behind said Barricades.

I'm sorry to keep going back & forth with this. I just can't seem to make up my mind.

Hornets are 80 points each with Pulse lasers mate and for that points they produce some serious firepower. Keep your distance and hug some cover and if your opponent decides to shoot at your hornets then he isn't shooting other more expensive staff. Also keep in mind that if he forces you to jink then you can flat out, re position away from danger and for that round shoot at an available flyer target.
