First, a note to the mods; I'm not sure if this thread is in the right place. So apologies if it isn't.
Second, my main point. I've been playing the latest battlefront game a lot recently. Personally I don't it's not as fun as the old ones, but it is more polished. It's good but not great is what I'm saying. But it got me thinking; wouldn't it be awesome to have a 40k game in the same mould of battlefront? And what would said game look like?
I realised that it works best when limited to two factions of similar power. Which is hard to do in 40k with its multitude of factions of various powers. But there is one conflict that suits this idea perfectly...the Horus Hersey! Space Marines on both sides with the exact same equipment as each other battling away in a balanced fight? Who here wouldn't want to play that?
And compared to battlefront there's more room for customisation. You can pick any one of the legions to play as, then customise your character using the various different marks of power armour. And whereas the Star Wars have uses all the different types of blasters for variety, this game could use the various types of bolt guns and pistols that are knocking around. Power ups and such can be things like special weapons and equipment. Melta guns, auspexes, etc.
What do you think?
