Any thoughts on these?

http://m.musterbrand.com/item/36363137202b2037343233

I think they are superb, but being nearly 40 I don't think I could quite pull off the look and I can't really think of a practical way to display one.... there are many things my wife will tolerate but a manequin dressed in a 40k coat might just push her too far.... anyway I would need the hat.

Anyone going to bite?

There is not Commissar Hat, so I declare it HERESY

Said this, is very nice!

I would rather buy the real thing for that price, if I ever wanted to dress like that ; )

It kind of is the real thing... it's a full wool coat with military buttons and badges. Can't get much more real than that, without becoming an actual commissar in the 41st millennium in a twisted and warped alternate reality!

On one hand, it'd be cool to wear with a cosplay for an event or something. On the other hand you're paying $500 for a display piece that most people are going to think is an SS coat at a glance and really isn't something you would ever wear in public.

Damn I had never thought of it looking like an ss coat! Wouldn't be a great look on the street then!

I think they are a cool idea but just too impractical. I do think a line in 40k hats and helmets would be very collectible. I would buy a marine helmet or commissar cap. Some tau or eldar helmets would be sweet too. Head gear is display friendly. Coats not so much.

Its not that hard to get yourself a "40k hat."

Just go to this site buy a hat you like
http://www.ww2sale.com/hats-and-insignia/

add some 40k symbols and you are done.

Nope but they do have more affordable "commissar" coats. It will safe you 200+ euro.
