So I've started to look at Armada and the tactician in me is liking the look of it. so i have a few general questions;

what is a standard game size? (like xwings 100pt games)
what are the best units for Imperials? i assume Imperial Class 2 star destroyers might be up there.

: 4500pts

Lothlorien: 3500pts
Rohan: 1500pts
Serpent: 2000pts
Modor: 1500pts

I think the standard was 400 points last I checked, it might be higher by now, but that's a good size.

You'll actually want a mix of ships. However, the game has enough stuff now that you can do some specific styles and have things to cover your bases.

Imperial Class Star Destroyers (ISD) are much more expensive than the Victory Class (VSD), so you'll lose out on some support stuff, or the smaller and more maneuverable ships like the Gladiator (one of the few EU ships I like besides the Interdictor). But it's a lot of firepower and upgrade options. I suspect an ISD and the new small support ships/transports.

You'll want some anti-fighter coverage too. If you want to go classic, a big screen of TIE fighters does wonders.

I assume that with the tie fighters have an advantage with sheer numbers and firepower from those numbers?
