Hey guys whats up?

So I have been painting a getting ready to get my army it my local game store. I have been playing games a friends and it has been doing okay so far considering we are both new at the game.

Anyway here is my basic list, I have made a few lists for different point ranges but I am not 100% happy with it. My biggest thing here is, what is the main thing it is missing? Before I jump to the LGS I want to buy one more thing, I don't have a lot of extra cash but I can swing something. I know this needs a lot and no "one thing" is going to turn this list from zero to hero but what is the most glaring absence? Thanks.

2 Tac Squads of 10. Both are the Dark Vengeance ones, one has a replacement SGT.

1 Bike Squad from Dark Vengeance

2 Dreadnaughts 1 is standard the other has twin las cannons and a missile launcher.

2 Terminator Squads from Dark Vengeance.

HQ is the Librarian LVL 2 with a lot of junk on him. Most likely Interrogation Psy powers or Divination.

My biggest things are lack of transports and having a hard time dealing with armor and such. I don't have that many big guns. What should I go for? Rhinos? Tanks?

I know there is not 100% fix but something that makes it a little better would be helpful.

I would definitely suggest transports first. You can get razorback and magnetize/not glue everything down so they can double as Rhinos. A razorback can only transport 6 models though so may want to keep that in mind although they do have weapons. The Rhinos can transport 10 with 2 shooting out the top.

Either way I would highly recommend transports of some kind though. Walking marines are sad marines haha.

Get the Razorback kit, as it doubles as both, and just don't glue the top hatch with the turret so you can switch it out with the Rhino hatch.

Yes, tactical squads without transports are garbage but Objective Secured Rhinos are worth way more than 35 points.

Are these models that you already own?

After transports, you won't regret buying six Black Knights. Play them as two units of three or one command squad for bike HQ.

The most competitive ways to play Dark Angels are:

- lots of Ravenwing Black Knights, maybe with allies in larger games

- or a Lion's Blade with full Battle Company and free transports (also with Ravenwing or other allies)

Unfortunately Terminators are not competitive.

Yes these are all models I already own, Yeah that is what kinda sucks I went dark angels for the terminators (is this in general for terminators or just for DA?) . Black Knights are cool but I really don't like bikes all that much (I chose DA a while back but I have been having a busy couple of years so I finally wanna play, obviously DA is amazing with bikes now so that doesn't really help me lol) . I guess I should look into the lions blade option you have suggested.

It isn't just DA. Terminators have a lot of issues in general. I think you may see more BA TH/SS terminators thanks to their new Orbital Intervention Force. Anyways, I play the Lion's Blade a lot and have a decent amount of success with it. On top of the free transports and objective secured, you get to fire overwatch at full BS which is nice.

Hmm okay makes sense then, it was between DA and BA terminators and I chose DA lol. I will try and focus on this Lion's Blade.

It sucks that Deathwing are some of the best DA models and Black Knights are a pain in the ass to build and paint. Hoping 8th edition fixes terminators.

I sure hope so! It was the Death Wing Lore that sold me on DA
