So, I figured I'd put together my first ever assault based list since I'm toying with the idea of putting together a fluffy but viable TAC Raven Guard force. Ideally, I'd like to do something tournament worthy but at least semi-competitive (since I hear Vanguard Veterans kinda suck). Any advice would be muchly appreciated!

That's 1427 points, and the core of the kind of thing I'm after.

I could swap the CAD for a Pinion Battle-Demi Company, but then that means buying a load of overpriced tactical marines... No idea how I'd kit these guys out.

That's 1449 points. I could drop a scout squad and go for dual plasma/ melta for the tactical squads and give them all rhinos and have 70 spare.


OR the final idea is just to go balls to the wall with vanguard veterans, which would mean I'd probably have to vary the loadout somewhat.

That's 1469 points.

All list looks Ok, but I don't think you need to take more than one melta bomb after the nerf of grenade in FAQ, only one grenade / melta bomb attack per Squad now. Also, put the PF on some regular guys instead of the Sergeant, any MC Characters decked with lots of attacks (i.e. Daemon Princes or Greater Daemons with a Daemon weapon) in challenge, even a storm shield can not save you when you need to make 4 or 5 saves.
