As I mentioned in a previous thread, the pegs for the Millennium Falcon broke the first day I had the model; I got the new pegs, but the ship is still really wobbly. It seems like it falls over every other time I move it and I've taken to only assembling it with one peg at this point. Now a friend of mine bought the Decimator, and his pegs broke the second day he used the model in the exact same place mine did. We're checking the triangles and making sure they go together correctly - is anyone else seeing an issue with these and does anyone have any advice for making them more stable?

I haven't had an issue yet but my new Lancer also looks wobbly on the pegs. have to you thought about cutting off the existing and just gluing a peg straight to the ship?

blue tac or some other sticky putty in the hole might to help with looseness/wobbling - if you don't want to resort to gluing in the pegs.

I run all my ships on 1 peg instead of 2. My brother runs his large ships (only) on 1 peg; it helps with the wobbly issue and with bumping into small ships (which are on 2 pegs, and thus usually "above" the large ships).

It never ends well

Yeah, using 2 pegs on a large ship is usually courting disaster. If you remove the plug from the ship, it's hole in the hull is generally the same size as a peg's, so you could do that. Otherwise you could use some flat magnets. My favourite solution has been the Epic ships' huge stand. They clear all other minis and they are rock solid.

I'd recommend priming the base and pegs black. The nominal extra thickness of the paint generally keeps the pegs in place.
Alternately, if you have any of the huge ships, the extra-long/reinforced posts for the huge ships work great for large based ships and keep them out of the way for model placement.

I've never had much problem with my large bases. I notice some of the pegs don't fit as well as others, that's why (as I mentioned in the other topic) if I find a peg that works I try to stick with it on that ship. Once you have a good selection of large ships and bases, it's much easier to find pegs that are a good fit.

... that's a metaphor for dating if I've ever seen one.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I didn't know that the bases for the epic ships would fit on the regular large ships. That sounds like a really good idea. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with these things, but it's really been ticking me off. I imagine this will get better as the collection grows.
