Hi guys,

With the pound slowly going down the drain due to the Brexit, splurging on some Forge World is becoming more and more tempting. Now I've been eyeing the FW Realm of Battle tiles for years now, especially the cityscape ones for some nice urban warfare.

They currently sell a bundle deal called the Industrial Sector, which is each of the four cityscape tiles with the two more recent industrial ones:

These all look incredible and will surely make for a stunning looking gaming table, but I'm somewhat worried about the playability of these tiles. The large Manufactorum Sector on the top right is probably the main culprit, which seems to limit model placement by quite a bit as it appear to block vehicle movement for basically the entire tile.

Now I do own the plastic Realm of Battle sets with the hills, so I could always change things up by exchanging plates between the two sets (or just combine them for an Apocalypse battle), but it would be a shame to always have the less useful tiles lie on the sides because they're not much fun to play on.

Does anyone have any experience playing on either these cityscape and/or industrial tiles, and if so, what was their experience?

I very nearly bought this set earlier in the year but reading about people's experience of them warping and drooping in the middle put me off. (they have no reinforcing structure underneath like the RoB tiles have)

Also, with no clips it's far too easy to have them shift around if the table is knocked.

I bought the Tablescape ruined urban boards instead.

Having experienced all of these problems with my ZM boards (which are only 12x12 rather than 24x24) I'm confident that was the right decision.

I played on some of these tiles once. The big challenge was placing flyers, they sat at an angle on the raised areas. The tiles themselves suggest the placement of buildings / fortifications at specific places, which also made it a little hard to find spots for the flyers.

Other than that, they were fine. Not sure I would pay for a set given the existence of battle mats, but there's nothing really wrong with them.

Second the warping comment.
I dont own any of the industrial pieces but have two of the imperial stronghold boards and they have warped on two edges. Not hugely but frustratingly. They cost enough =/
As said, they dont have the reinforcement strut things underneath.
