You know those games you come across every so often and when you wake up in the morning its the first thing you think about playing/doing and literally cant wait to get out of work to boot it up?
Currently for me its AC black flag.
Other honorables for sure were Skyrim, World of Warcraft, Mariokart 64, Morrowind and Street Fighter 2 SNES.

There is not this idea.

I can't remember the last time I actually felt like this, which makes me a little sad.

Kotor 2, maybe?

Pretty much whatever the newest Total War game is. Always dreaming up elaborate strategies and such.

Street Fighter II and Everquest. The start and end of the 90s!

I would wake up in the night wanting to play EQ! Never was brave enough to try WoW.

Check out project1999.com if you were a fan of Everquest / Ruins of Kunark / Scars of Velious. It's an officially recognised emulator dedicated to recreating this era of Everquest. /life

My friend said the exact same thing which was interesting. I do believe this is somewhat a golden age for gaming but interesting that that buzz maybe isnt around as much.

The only game I have woken up, and started to think about have to be the latest DOOM game! The sheer metalness of it made me happy for days and days

World of Tanks.

Except it's more dreading the continued grind than actually wanting to play it.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

For me, it only happens when I win, and I shouldn't have- or those rare moments when you hit that clarified zen state, and know your next shot is good, and the one after that, and he'll just miss you. The sort of game that when you finish, you start breathing again, and wonder if you dreamed or imagined the incomparable skill you just displayed. After a match like that in any game, I often think of it throughout the day.

Outer Space, Apparently

Fallout: New Vegas is probably the most recent one for me; I'd say Overwatch, but I don't really own it, or a PC, at this current time.

My honourable and most memorable mention is Battlefield 2142, which I used to run home from school to play back in 2007. Man, such a long time ago, and that feeling of booting it up has never been replaced since

I have played the 2142 revival - it's funny how 9 year old me did so much better at it than 18 year old me, it feels so old school

Right now I don't really have a game like that, sadly. I've been looking around for a new "that game" but nothing has come up, yet. Nothing on sale, at least.

That is seriously dark.

I often wake up and think about Dark Souls, I'm currently chugging through the DS2 DLC. Bloody heck it gives me shivers.....

For me it's "whatever I'm playing now" .. I tend to binge play for a solid week or 2 and skip all TV till I beat the game, then life gets back to normal till the next game comes out. I usually also have lots of dreams about video games too, but I rarely have dreams about TV shows that I love. Dunno why.

Almost certainly, the sheer variety and quantity of games today has never been beaten.

I don't dream of games very often anymore either, although I did have a dream about Stellaris when it was first released so I'm not an embittered old crusty just yet

At the moment: Skyrim mods

A few games in the past I can remember waking up to: World of Warcraft, SWTOR, Fallout 3, Pokemon Blue and Gold, and, ugh, some gakky Gladiator arena flash game on Kongregate.

Never Dark Souls, because I usually quit when I get frustrated and booting it up again is nothing I look forward to (still do it, though^^).
