Stealthy Dark Angels Scout with Shotgun
|
So I got an ITC tournament coming up for 1500 points. This is the list I am thinking of running but still have about 95 pints to spare. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Here's my two cents haha.
With that many points to spare I would consider putting the Assault Squad in a drop pod. I've tried them with jump packs and they always seem to get shot off the board pretty quick. I also tend to have a lot of success with them in a drop pod with flamers.
I also usually put my devastators in a Rhino and just go with 2 Grav cannons. They have more mobility that way and will live longer. You are giving up some grave shots but they'd be more likely to do more damage long term. When they com in turn 1 they will only get 12 shots, 14 if you use the sergeants Combi-Grav, but will likely get mauled as soon as your opponent gets to shoo/assault. You may not have any on the board after that and considering how expensive they are I'd try to make them last as long as possible.
I'd also look at maybe swapping out the Grav guns for Plasma. Only being able to shoot 9" if they moved is gonna be rough especially since they are going in Razorbacks with Las which i'd think you'd want to keep back. I played in an ITC tournament over the weekend and this really bit me in the butt. They weren't nearly as effective as I was hoping they'd be and I think having plasma against those pesky Wraithknights that stayed just out of range would have helped a lot.
With the points you'd save from this, you could easily add in a command squad with melta. It sucks not having and odd number of drop pods which normally goes against what most people want, but on a more positive side you'd have options on which to bring in on turn 1 depending on who you are playing. You also would still have some points left over to play around with. Anyways. That's just my thoughts. Hope it helps!

Should I switch all of the veteran sergeant weapons to combi plasma instead of combi grav?
Also I did not know if you move with a grav gun it can only shoot 9". Good to know.
Also I will change the dev to the rhino my original goal was to drop them in a objective area and hold it with fire power lol.
I like having jump packs with my assault squad and had pretty good experience with them but I will consider changing it up.
Also instead of adding a Command Squad what if I add an Interrogator-chaplain with a jump pack and put him with the assault squad and take a Captain as my HQ and put him with a tac squad?

Yep. Grav guns range are cut in half and they loose shots like Grav Cannons. They're great on relentless platforms like bikes but can only be so-so on regular marines. And you could swap them out or leave them. Combo-weapons are all 10 points. You may want to leave them to give you more options or change them to get the range of plasma. I'm honestly not sure what I'd do haha. I usually don't take combo-weapons (mainly because I don't have any) but also because that's 30 points for one Demi-Company's worth of Tac squads.. I usually run the double demi (at 1500+ points) and that is 60 points I can spend elsewhere.
You can definitely do that. But to take an Interrogator chaplain you'd have to add a CAD since GW won't let us take the better chaplain with the Lion's Blade. If you did that you may want to consider finding the points to go ahead and have the two troop choices be regular marines in rhinos/razorbacks for a little more fire power and obsec.
I think if I were doing something along those lines though i'd leave the regular chaplain with a jump pack as the HQ for the Lion's Blade and take a Librarian in the CAD. It's cheaper and more useful than the Company Master since ours tend to be a little wanting compared to others. I only take the Company Master as a tax for free transports in the Lion's Blade and leave him bare bones.

I think I will go with the combi-Plas cause you make an interesting point about grav and I am already running them in my Dev squad.
I can add the Interrogator chaplain as the inner circle formation with the Lions Blade. with only 1500 points though I can only really run 1 Demi-Battle Company if it was more points I would run the full Battle Company and add a Librarian but I don't really know how to play psykers lol.
Also I like the idea about the command squad but what about the veteran squad instead?

I always forget about the inner circle haha.
And If I took a librarian with it I'd probably take him ML 2, bike, shroud of heroes. He's T5, gets Jink, FNP, and Shrouded so he's a lot harder to kill and since GW says they aren't "on the board" in a transport this lets him cast stuff. I'd look at maybe casting Presience on the dev squad and keeping him close to the them. They can then re-roll misses and wounds which is pretty nice haha! But I understand. I don't normally play psykers either just because, in my meta, 1 ML 2 psyker can't really do much against Conclaves and what not, but it could give you a nice little advantage against neuron or tau with!
You could def swap out a command squad for vets but I tend to favor the command squad because they can take 5 special weapons which makes them a little better to me over the vet squad who can't.

well I think I am going to run the command squad just so I can have the apothocary and I believe they get extra attacks, but will have to double check my codex.
the librarian on the bike sounds like an awesome idea but don't think i will have time to get him ready for the tournament. so he can cast stuff in transports correct so long as he has line of sight?

Yeah, the command squad will get 2 attacks base, i'd recommend keeping them out of CC if you can help it unless it's like 2 guardsman or something haha. Well, unless you kit them out for CC but I still wouldn't charge Wulfen or anything like that.
I'll have to go back and double check the rules. IIRC they can only cast witchfire type powers from inside the transport as long as there is a firing slot/hatch and they have LOS. Anything else and they'd have to get out. Pretty sure they also can't target units inside a transport no matter what.

Yea I am going to equip them with chain swords and meltaguns and bolters to replace bolt pistols in case I get CC. Also yes I would never charge Wulfen or space wolves just shoot the crap out of them lol.
