Hey guys, just want some advice about my kill team, my local GW is putting on a league in a few weeks. I'm restricted by models but I have a couple options to look at.

So far this is what I plan to bring to the league:

5 Praetorians w/ Void blades and Particle Casters
3 Scarabs

I was planning on having some way of popping vehicles, so the void blades stood out to me with their Entropic Strike and Rending. As for specialists, i'll have one set aside for my Leader for if/when I get to choose, and the specialists will have: Killer Instinct, Machine Sabateur, and Infiltrate.

My other options include:

5 Immortals/5 Death marks (or 10 of either unit)
15 Warriors
5 Lychguard + Scarabs (number depends on loadout)

Any constructive advice is appreciated

To be quite honest, I've played against 2 Destroyers and the rest Warriors and it was a total pain...

I think the AP3 on the destroyers is your key unit here; giving it ignore cover is brutal for marine armies.

Also, basic warriors are just fine for killteam since it's really about weight of numbers and the re-animation protocols are so good... Just my thoughts.

I dont' actually know what any of the other units you list are lol but I coudl also see the "jet bike" things being good in kilteam as well.

Oh, one final thought... is it possible to take Wraiths? If so, perhaps 3 of those and then Warriors would be really really nasty... but not sure if it's real.

Aye, I wish I could field some other options. The kicker is trying to follow the 4 model rule. 1 leader, 3 Specialists, none of which can be beasts, swarms or vehicles. Wraiths are beasts, and the points cost for 3 wraiths and 10 warriors exceeds 200pts.

Tomb blades would be nice, and they are cheap, unfortunately I have neither the models nor funds. Same goes for destroyers, no models, no money lol

I've done a little bit of research and Praetorians seem to be a strong choice for kill team with only 7 of them on the board. I might have gone with 7 instead of 5, but I only have 1 box. The remaining points went to the scarabs.

The positivwe side to the Praetorians, are that they're jump infantry, S/T5, A2, 3+. They're fearless, so they won't suffer from break tests. They also have reanimation protocols. The void blades give em entropic strike and rending, giving them some anti tank capabilities (on top of the speed to keep pace), auto glance on an AP roll of 6, AP2. Particle casters are a S6 pistol.

I'm hoping the scarabs get under estimated. Beasts, W3, Fearless, with entropic strike as well, just no AP2. Aside from that they are very squishy, but with a low profile I should be able to sneak them through terrain.

Just full of doubt lol I haven't played a game in over a year, and just this past spring I sold most of my 2 main armies. Using this KT league to ease into the hobby again.

Ah ok, well that's fair enough. I've played against the Immortals, and while the 3+ makes them more durable, I wasn't too impressed by them. However, perhaps a small unit of 5 of those and then some of those jump guys you mentioned would be good?

Honestly, the scarabs don't seem to be real great, but perhaps that's just because I've seen a lot of template weapons in killteam.

Sorry I'm not much help ha

Warriors + 2 destroyers isn't a legal kill team list (210 points).

I like immortals + destroyers, that is my typical list. From your choices I would lean towards praet + scarabs. Can you use the Rod instead of VB / PC? With 33 armor cap most armor will be 10 or 11 on the rear which means you will wound on a 5 or 6 with the rod regardless. Only big concern would be a walker with 12 front armor, and you could always harass that with scarabs or use one of the special KT rules to make a vehicle killer praet.

I would avoid deathmarks, you can't deepstrike in Kill Team as far as I know and sniper is sorta useless with single model units.

Yeah I could switch out the weapons. I just finished building them, so i'd have to figure out which arms go with the rods haha I had a tickle in the back of my mind telling me I was going overboard with entropic strike, kinda glad to here some one else say it :p

A few lists I've had success with

Necron Warriors x15 - 195

Necron Destroyers x5 - 200

Tomb Blades x4 - 72
Gauss Blasters
Triarch Stalker - 125
Heat Ray

Only issue I have with Necron kill teams is you gotta keep them close together to get protocols which leaves you vulnerable to blasts and other templates.

One thing to keep in mind is that scarabs are generally intended to be disposable units. So just be mindful of that in your squad as your low unit count makes you vulnerable.

Triarch stalker is not legal in kill team. There is a long debate on I think "You make the call" discussing it. Since it deploys with the 13 front and side armor it is considered higher than 33. Thankfully we still have wraiths, destroyers, tomb blades, praets, flayed ones, and any number of other super strong kill team units.

Also I do not understand the comment about protocols. Reanimation doesn't require proximity to other units as far as I know.

Units with protocols have to be within two inches of another model that has the rule in order to get the roll. As for the triarch stalker It's profiled as 11 all around before quantum shielding so I'd say definitely legal. Gonna drop a question on the gee dubs face book page for an answer.

Well, in small point games you need numbers.

Sadly a killteam requires 4 non vehicle, beast, or swarm models to be specialists and made. So 5 destroyers is a no go illegal list :(

I had similar problems wanting to fiend all Flesh hounds for daemon lists xD

Destroyers are jetpack infantry. Perfectly legal to field 5 of them.
