I'm quite new to the hobby, and am currently building up my first Chaos Space Marine/Skitarii 1850 Point list (over here if you're interested). I really like the idea of doing some conversions, and since I'm not a big fan of the Havoc or Obliterator models, I'm considering how I might make some better ones. Currently considering converting a Loyalist Devastator Squad for Havocs, but have absolutely no idea how to do Oblits.

If anyone's done either of these before, or any other cool CSM conversions for that matter, I'd love to see them and hear how they were done!

SM Centurions would make good Obliterators.

Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnaise and those little cheesy things on sticks.

I converted my obliterators using terminators. Basiacly I took a squad of terminators and glued every piece of ranged weaponary i could find and then wraped some of it in green stuff to make it look like the weapons are fused with with the obliterators flesh. It dosen't realy matter if the weapons represented on the model are the ones that the rules state they have. When people see a fleshy terminator model with a bunch of weapons everyone knows it's a obliterator.

Google has tons of pictures to look at to get ideas for converting. Here's my take on some older ones I did(I stole this idea). I also agree with using Centurions and termies. They all work great.

Here's an interesting idea for converted obliterators:

Also, regular SM devastators are a great starting point for havocs. Just slap on some chaos iconography, and you have some pretty good looking havocs.

Then suddenly I saw it. With only a slight churning to mark its rise to the surface, the thing slid into view above the dark waters. Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds. I think I went mad then.

Space Wolf Long Fangs would be another option for Havocs. I've got a very nice set of autocannon Havocs from eBay that someone built from a combination of Space Wolf and Possessed bits. They look great.

Check out the Legion Autocannon set by Forgeworld. You'll need to get some marine bodies to stick them on though, obviously!
