Thoughts? There's not a lot of anti-armour capability but hopefully the MSU metamorphs could do a number on most things that are effective against hordes. The fearless, obsec blobs should hold all objectives on the home front and the cult should make a nasty mess of the opponent's backfield. There's no core detachment for the shrouding and respawning models, but I honestly thought another subterranean uprising would be much stronger.

That's 300 models? I've played horde tyranid armies, it is not really that fun to move them around... So unless you have some sort of placement trays on the table, you and your opponent are in for a very long and boring game.

Besides that, I think the wyverns are quite unneccessary. You have plenty ability to kill infantry. What you need are ways to kill tanks and flyers.

Yeah I did realise the model count would be prohibitive at the time... Which is a shame really as the hordes synergize well with each other.

You're probably right about the wyverns. I just struggle to make a guard list without them haha. They also help keep the model count down a little.

Maybe I could drop the wyverns and some conscripts for a brood cycle? Wouldn't exactly change the model count much though

Find a friend who are willing to live through a whole day of playing and go crazy on the model count ;-)

Maybe swap the wyverns for some hydras as AA? With this much infantry on the board it can even be hard for enemy flyers to land in useful spots.

If you want to reduce model count and add anti armor without loosing the style, maybe add some heavy mining equiments or demolitions charges to the squads.

Here's another option then - it loses a few models (which is a good thing for actually playing games haha) and it gains the insurrection detachment. I kept the wyverns because of their ability to delete large parts of deathstars if I get turn one. Not sure how much good a hydra or two will do me anyway, it might be best just to completely ignore air power.

In hindsight, it doesn't actually have many fewer models, it still had 208
