This is the second time I do an Imperial Knight. My first attempt at a knight looked like this, but I parted with this model last summer.

WIP pictures here: http://stephanius40k.blogspot.de/2016/10/mechanicum-cerastus-knight-atrapos-wip.html

What do you think of my Atrapos?
Any suggestions on how to improve it are welcome.

Looks good though I would recommend trying to get some better pictures of it without GW's potato sack in the background

Some suggestions:

- A more dynamic pose would have been better, the FW models are designed for pose ability so having more varied poses other than the normal front facing pose would be nice - this is purely a personal preference though
- Weather/airbrush your decals, they seem a bit too clean compared to the rest of the paint job and really stick out. Use your AB or oils to weather them into the rest of the armor panels more
- Another personal preference of mine is matte finish no the paint job, the gloss is nice for metallic areas but for normal armor pieces a matte finish works so much better

Overall the paint and model looks great!

Nevermind about the posing! I just watched your video and saw it's mostly magnetized...bravo!

Thank you for your feedback!

The clear red only really works with gloss, that is how I saw and liked it for the FW Brass Scorpion and how they show it in the HH Masterclass book.

The decals do look too clean. If they would be on a flat base color, sponging or painting some of that on there would do the trick, but with the candy paint I'm not sure that will work. I'll do a test on a dummy piece with other decals to test painting over, sanding, scratching and trying to use decal remover to partially mess them up.

Any ideas and tips are welcome!

The racial make up of the Imperium is 100% Australians. Its the reason the Imperium has survived for so long.
