Hi people ! I just wanted your opinion on the question of which is better : using the Incursion detachment or the CAD ?

A friend of mine told me the Incursion is good because it affects the Warp Storm table rules in a positive way, however, these formations cost a lot and a lot of points.

What's your idea on this ?

I like the Incursion. Nurgle one is actually pretty cheap-7 Nurglings and a bare-bones Herald is 360 points.

I either run them as allies or incursion, an unreliable warpstprm table sucks, also re-rolls on daemonic instability is so worth it.

If you want Daemons to be reliable, I think Fateweaver is an auto-include for most lists, although that may change once the new FAQ drops saying he needs to be on the board for his re-rolls :(

Without fateweaver, I think an incursion is a big deal. With both, you nearly pick your warp storm result, which is great. With neither, you have an issue where you can really get screwed if you have bad rolls.

Personally, I run a CAD with fateweaver because I find the incursion to be too limiting and I don't really mind having pink horrors sit back and secure objectives.

I can't say that I've heard of any incursion list doing super well competitively but I know that CAD daemons have for years now. Also, that tetrad formation is dope no matter how you run it.
