So... I recently started using Psykers for the first time, ever. Really fun units to say the least, also a nice change of pace having something to defend against enemy psykers with.

Looking through my Inquisition Codex, I realized that in the Henchmen war bands Psykers are a mere 10 point, Mastery Level 1 Brotherhood of Psykers with the ability to use everything (including Telepathy for Invisibility goodness) except Daemonology. The only requirement is that Henchmen war bands have to be a minimum of three models, the other two models could easily just be cheap Acolytes to serve as "bodyguards."

Using what's described above, I could quite possibly get 3 to 4 Psykers on the field (4 if I set up the required Inquisitor as a psyker) for very few points, and be able to provide my Imperial Guard forces with a rather substantial amount of psychic support on the field.

A super basic set up (just off the top of my head) could be as follows:

Inquisitor (around 50 points depending on loadout)

Henchmen:
Psyker 10 points
2 Acolytes 8 points

Henchmen:
Psyker 10 points
2 Acolytes 8 points

Henchmen:
Psyker 10 points
2 Acolytes 8 points

Overall coming out to a little over a hundred points for 3 to 4 psychic units on the field.

Seems a little too easy, am I missing something? Thoughts?

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

No you are right it's easy to put a few psychers down with inquisition I personally like to use Coteaz cause he's ml 2 giving you 5 warp charge. I also like to fill out the squads a bit with Lazer monkies

Coteaz 100pts
Inq 60ish ml1

Psyker,4 bolter acolytes 30pts x 3 90
Total 250ish points add 6 monkies 2/unit for I think 180pts (30 pts each I think)

Bringing the total to 430 add some heavy bolter or plasma servitors to top up to 500 pts nice little effective Allie.

Aboard Terminus Est.

And couple that up with a psykana division of daemon summoning wyrdvanes for some disgusting psychic goodness.

With a maxed out psykana division + timeshadows ally detachment you're looking at 15 WC dice, with 3 powers going off on a 2+, for the low? cost of ~750 points (minus the monkeys)

A psykana division summons out daemons better than daemons summon daemons (just don't tell your inquisitor) also there's a 42% chance you'll roll on possession and then you can pop out 2 greater daemons.

Also don't forget an astropath in your CCS for even more access to the sweet telepathy powers.

No- it's your turn to die.

Does Inquisition have access to Biomancy?

I think another core composition is 1x Psyker, 1x DCA escort. My thinking is that it creates a unit that's hard to ignore, unrewarding to shoot, and costly to assault. DCA have an amazing statline.

You can fill out the rest of the squad with whatever. I think there are two other interesting options:

- Mystic (locator beacon)
- Priest (Psi-Shock combi, War Hymns)

I would definitely make sure the squad remains viable if you lose the Psyker to precision shots, perils, terrain, etc.

What kind of glorious heresy is this!? LOL, I love it!

Well... I'll have to keep that in mind, just to perform purely out of spite. That would be completely hilarious.

Also @Yoyoyo: I'm liking your concept there, makes the unit(s) just a little more frightening.

Coteaz is great for use in guard blobs too - gives LD 10 and some fighting power, plus his amazing re-roll to seize (and to prevent opponents seizing).

Would love to do a guard summoning list if I had the daemon models. The psykana division looks like a lot of fun.

Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights
