Can someone please break down this star and how it fits in army construction. I see the formation for the Wolfkin, but it is an Auxillary choice. How do you get the full star with allies in a battle forged list? Then what chapter space marines is best to ally with for the conclave? Please how does this list work? I am lookng to start this army and have always loved dogs in lists.

Wolfkin formation 50 wolfs, SW CAD with some wolf mounted Wolf Lord to do the killing, DA to bring Arzeal for his whole unit 4++, and Sammel for hit and run? Ultramarine Librarian Conclave for Tiggy's almost assured invisibility casting. That's it, you now have a blob of almost 60 T4, 4++ models, and highly likely having invisibility and/or reroll failed save. Your opponent is going to have a headache.

While the Wolfkin formation is an auxiliary choice in the formation detachment for space wolves, it's also an independent formation, allowing it to be taken by itself with other formations.

Hope the fix the special rules sharing between codices at some point. It's a bit sad that arguably the strongest builds in the game are single unit mash ups of unlikely characters. If you can't deny invisibility somehow then your entire army is pretty pointless as there's no hope of hurting that monster unit in any meaningful way. When there's no real unit interaction it makes for a dull game...
