Is it a terrible idea to deep strike a terminator sorcerer (the warlord) and a squad of Tzeentch terminators? If not, what advice would you give for doing so?

Not a Chaos player but in general deep striking is good for shooting focused units while not that great for close combat. The psyker's powers work just fine after deep striking so there isn't an issue with that and I don't know how CSM can kit their Terminators. Terminators kited out for shooting should do ok but melee units might also work if your Sorcerer can use his powers to buff the unit (shrouding, invisibility, endurance, etc) to protect them before charging in.

Try a Terminator Annihilation Force from Traitor's Hate. Drop, shoot, psychic, shoot. Could be strong.

I could see it being neat with a Cyclopian Cabal using the power to make an enemy unit shoot their allies.

Deepstrike is not great unless you have reserve manipulations and deepstrike mitigations or you simply don't care about the unit you're deepstriking too much (like a solo crysis suit).
Protip: you don't have any worthwhile deepstrike mitigation.

Good thing Termicide is pretty damn cheap!

With the Terminator Anhillation force - he could be quite good!

Give him the Burning Brand. He deep strikes in and immediatley gets to use it.. Then psychic powers.. Then shoot with it again.

Thanks for all the advice - since I don't want to just termicide I'll have to be really careful about placement, and not leave them too isolated (summoning some Horrors for DISTRACTION should help), and the Burning Brand makes a lot of sense.

Agreed with above, I would just drop a secondary psyker instead of warlord if possible, deep striking units receive a ton of fire, and you're asking for an easy first blood and slay the warlord for your opponent if the dice don't favor you.

I decided to keep this strategy, but add a very cheap Chaos Lord to the list and make that the Warlord instead, so I can be a bit less careful about the Sorcerer Lord. Thanks for all the help!

Take termies with mark of Tzeentch to have better invulns and give them soul blaze for extra fun, and the ML3 Tzeentch sorcerer and go crazy with warp breath, double or triple heavy flamer and double skalathrax burner madness with terminator annihilation force, also take combi-plasma and melta and everything goes down, EVERYTHING!

To be honest, i'd just add more terminators rather than taking MoT. It's quite costly. Just a 1/6 increase in durability only vs ap2. And extra termie means more durability and damage output. For cheaper.

If you're up against the right army, deep striking a sorceror with the last memory of yuranthos can be devastating...
