Heya. im in quite a quandary here as i recently went ham on Team Yankee Americans and im having a tough time deciding what paint scheme to go with
the real trouble is deciding how to paint them to not look so boring. while realistically they would be fairly flat and camouflaged it doesn't nearly have the pop i like compared other games.
The general area my group wants to set this up in is in europe as we all have various factions and some wouldnt make sense in like the middle east (though i do love the desert schemes)
how would you guys go about it. brighter, more dramatic hues with still in reletivly standard colors? or just keep them mute and more realistic?
also thinking about a winter scheme to add some bright white to the green mix.
otherwise im thinking i might just break down and do basic nato.

I found when I started out with historics I wanted to paint visually distinctive forces. As time has moved on and I learn more about the subjects I'm painting I find myself getting more joy out of trying to make things look realistic rather than "enhanced". So when it comes to historics most of what I do is WW2 and I used to start by looking which paint scheme looked the coolest, these days I tend to read a cool story about a particular detachment and then want to faithfully reproduce it. At first it might sound boring, but it's actually more of a challenge because you can't cheat your way out of things and produces results I'm more proud to put on my display shelf.

If you want a 'distinctive' paint scheme in Team Yankee, you really should play the British:
Yes, that is the real world scheme used by the Berlin Brigade.

You've essentially asked the same question I just asked myself a minute ago on this very forum Desu
Have you checked out the MERDC camo patterns? The Summer and Temperate schemes may be the kind of designs you're looking for

Oh didnt even know that was a resource.
Berlin camo looks super cool. :(
i think im in between summer and winter Verdant or possibly Snow, Temperate with Trees
I think im going to go with the in between and do the top half a little brighter or do some other silliness with zenthal highlights.
