Have enrolled in a tournament next month. Want to take pure eldar. Also don't want to buy any new models. So this is what I have come up with so far.

Eldar CAD.

HQ - Farseer, Bike

Troops - 3 Scatter bikes
Troops - 3 Scatter bikes
Troops - 3 Cannon bikes
Troops - 3 Stock bikes
Troops - 3 Stock bikes

Fast Attack - Crimson Hunter Exarch, Lances

Heavy Support - Fire Prism, Holo Fields
Heavy Support - Night Spinner, Holo Fields, Ghostwalk Matrix
Heavy Support - Night Spinner, Holo Fields, Ghostwalk Matrix

Lord of War - Wraithknight, Sword and Shield, 2 Starcannons.

Formation - Seer Council
Farseer, Bike, Spear, Spirit Stone
Farseer, Bike, Spear
Warlock, Bike
Warlock, Bike
Warlock, Bike
Warlock, Bike
Warlock, Bike

1850 on the nose.

The tournament limits lords of war to 0-1 and a max of 550 points. You're also not allowed to duplicate any formation or detachment.

It is a kind of ITC format with a mix of eternal war and maelstrom so I've tried to include lots of fast moving units. I thought about putting the stone on the CAD Farseer so he is more effective at casting. I was tempted to roll on telepathy, tunes and sanctic, with one of them pulling prescience too. In a perfect world I'll end up with powers like, fortune, doom, guide, invis, horrify, psychic shriek, Prescience, Sanctuary and Vortex.

I'm relatively happy with the list based on models I own. What does dakka think?

To make it even more nasty, I suggest swap those tanks for Aspect Host full of Warp spiders. Your tanks are prone to overwhelming alpha strikes, while warp spiders do not have such concerns. When you see alpha strike type army, feel fre to put only those Warp Spiders on table and everything else in reserve, and enjoy annoying those skyhammer and Draigo-Tiggy-Grav Centurion star before tabling them.

If I had that many spiders I definitely would. But I only own 5.....

Ghost walk matrix, while cool, isn't actually very good. If you drop it you should be able to bump all your bikes up to having scat (might have to shift a couple extra points). If I was you id roll your CAD farseer on Telepathy, one of your formation Seer on telepathy and the other on div. If you get invis on your CAD Seer he joins up with the Seer star and does horrible things with them (remember that unit has AP - though, if you get the male diction that gives rending it will be your best friend)

The bikes are armed the way they're armed as that's what I own unfortunately. And to be fair, although probably not regarded as optimal, they've done ok for me.

As for the ghostwalks, I quite rarely take them, but on the spinners who want to hammer forward and clear things out of cover with their torrent flamers I've found them useful. Though I could perhaps upgrade 1 unit to have lasers at the cost of one more box I suppose.

The bikes are also fairly easy to convert. All it takes is some standard heavy weapon sprue and green stuff.

Chatted to a friend of mine last night about this list. He came up with an interesting idea, this is what he suggested,

He suggested dropping the fire prism, and dropping the upgrades on both of the night spinners. That equates to 190 points, and with that he said to add a hemlock wraithfighter in. Doesn't seem like a bad idea?

With a seer council, drop the prism and the spinner upgrades to get Baharroth as an HQ choice. Adding in hit & run, fearless, and precision deepstrike (from Gate) to your council is a necessity for running it competitively.

Yeah, I've heard this so many times. The problem is, it really doesn't suit the way I play with them and I don't think he brings that much to me.

I don't tend to go for gate, I have a council on jetbikes. With turbo boosting I can move 48" a turn. So I don't think hate offers me much apart from using warp charge that are better spent elsewhere. Fearless is and hit and run are nice, I can get fearless from the shard if I really wanted it, and you're right, I can't get hit and run anywhere else, but I don't think it's worth it for that many points, and at the expense of my jetbikes speed. Plus it plays with my theme. I'm aware this last statement means I'm not likely to win this thing, but hey, I'll have fun.
