Why are these selling for this price on eBay when you can buy that whole box for 150$ on amazon. Am I missing something?

Because some people are idiots? Trolling aside, you can list something for any price, but I wonder if anyone would seriously bid on it.

Totally agree but it says it's got 2 bids. I just thought I was missing something that was super obvious to the rest of the world.

...because someone's taken the time to clip them out and put them together?

Honestly, it's always surprised me that assembled and painted models sell cheaper than on sprue - that just seems backwards.

Anyway, nothing illegal about selling high - if someone's willing to pay that price, more power to 'em.

It never ends well

I have a suspicion that some people use "Buyer Bots" to help them out. In other words they artificially increase the price and interest in an item.

Though this one seems rather odd.

Because Acolyte Hybrids are $40 for 5. You're actually getting a decent deal here. This is 36x Acolytes., not the contents of DWOK.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

It's partly because people don't pay attention when they bid. When you buy currently available models, you HAVE to go to the GW (or FW or whoever) website, find out what they sell for normally and decide if the price (with shipping) is worth the price.

And partly because people are dumb.

I'd love to know why GW was selling the models in the Betrayal at Calth box for 325 (for all the models) while the full box was still available for 150. My advice, buy a bunch of the new box, wait until GW fulls the full box and sell the models for a quarter less then GW and make a killing!

Because most of the time "assembled and painted" means "badly assembled and painted", and many people are just going to strip and repaint any painted models they get. NIB is the most valuable because it guarantees that nothing has been damaged.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

When you see how badly assembled most of these models are it becomes clear why they're worth less.

Probably because a good deal of people like to pose the model certain ways or find it easier to paint them on sprue (or in parts) than as a completed model. I can definitely understand for things like space marines where they have so many kit options that having choice matters a lot. Also paint jobs and color schemes matter to some so adding a group of Necron Warriors for example to your army that have different shading or dynasty colors would clash when uniformity is valued.

These are also from the overkill box, im not looking at the site, but can you buy these models outside of the overkill box?

To many unpainted models to count.
