For me, it's a Craftworld Warhost with heavy psyker support. I've always been a big Ulthwe fan, so it feels most Eldar-y to me.

Battle demi-co. Not the Gladius it’s part of (although I enjoy that as well) or the concept of the full company free transport spam (I don’t like the MSU playstyle). Just a single demi-co.

It rewards me for fielding a fluffy army. Even before formations were a thing, I was fielding lists very close to it. And the rewards are not unbalanced. I accept moderate restrictions for what I can field in exchange for moderate rewards. Which is, IMHO, how formations should work. I could field some of the more broken formations, but would feel cheesy doing so. I can put a demi-co down with no moral qualms.

Librarius Conclave. Despite getting a huge nerf in the drafted FAQ. It is still a great and versatile formation to be taken to support lots of marine lists. It can be vary from Tiggy's conclave with Grav Cents and Draigo forming the most classical Imperial deathstar; taking in Medusa Strike Force to spread the FnP and PotMS benefit; or taking in mounted list to.support the WS Grav gun Biker (or Biker Command Squad) and / or the SW TWC.

Also, they can be adjusted in their power level. If you need highly competitive, roll on nothing else than Telepathy, Divination, Librarius (for Veil of Time) and maybe Biomancy discipline. If you are playing casual, consider Pryomancy, Telekenesis, and possibly Geokenesis.

Emperor's Wrath Artillery Formation. Put it in cover or out of LoS and surround it with conscripts to keep those pesky deepstrikers from walking up and knocking on your tanks. Watch your opponent cry as you drop STR 9 AP3 large blast ordnances and STR 10 AP4 large blast ordnances with the ignores cover rule anywhere on the board you want. Great for cracking vehicles open.

The last game I played with this formation I destroyed an imperial knight in 2 turns. Remember also that barrage ordnance hits the armor facing closest to the center of the blast according to the FAQ rough draft (even though this explicitly contradicts the BRB). So you can always position templates to hit weakest armor on a direct hit.

I like the Grokanaut Krushin Krew the most. It uses 3 of my favorite unit and by turn four they are amazing. I like running it with some morkanauts and a stompa.

I like the Craftworld Warhost, but when I use it, I prefer the Pale Courts Host, to any of the three Guardian Hosts. It's just so much more customizable.

Combination of da boss mob and 3rd edition cult of speed list makes for some fun times. Boss mob gets you alot of awesome perks and the cult of speed gets your reserves in a turn sooner. Boss mob gets you d3 outflankers and +1 to seizing. Also does not force me to keep all my characters in a single unit. I can break them up. Cult of speed also prevents boss from running off the table. They run to the closest empty vehicle.

Yes.

Bound just means that everything has a place to be, and that all required slots are filled. A formation is just like the CAD/FOC in that respect. But instead of the required HQ +2 troops, it’s stuff like captain/chaplain, 3 tacs, 1 assault pick, 1 dev pick.

And like you can take multiple CADs, you can take multiple formations. Just keep adding them, making sure all the required slots are filled, and then take more until you are out of points.

I take 3 in 1000pts and they're hilariously fun to play with.

Freakshows! An Eldar seer council with terror support from a corsair Prince and some Covens DE, optimally. I love the idea of a corsair uniting these forces for a campaign of fear.

I like to run the Ravenwing Strike Force, sometimes with a Deathwing Strike Force added in. It's fluffy, and not all that bad competitively. The only problem is that the RavenDeath combo just doesn't cut it in my super-competitive meta.

I really like playing War Convocation because it represents the way the army should have been designed and played from the very beginning; as a single, cohesive force that synergizes units and their rules as opposed to splitting them into two separate factions. I do dislike the hate it gets for being so damn powerful, but really the faction never should have been two separate factions to begin with. Maybe in the next iteration of the codex from the rumors will alleviate this.

Too much fun. Even had a player rage quit against it. Lol.

I have yet to get the models required for it, but I love the idea of a pure assassin list because it's quite unique and the look on your opponents face when you read your list out to them could be funny.

In larger games, its the Decurion. My Overlords ride in chariots and the Lords are attached to the Warriors or Immortals.
The Overlords are fully equipped with phylacterium, reg. sphere, and 4++ save. The Lords have the reg. sphere. Pretty nasty.

SW strike force with Blackmanes is really fun and fluffy. All pods on turn 1 is great alpha strike. Keeps my SW all infantry too.
I also like Wyrdstorm, 2 reasons. First it reminds me of the old living lightning, but better. Second because BUCKET OF DICE!!!!

With chaos, Tetrad is cool because it makes big daemons scary again. Renegades Purge is often chosen because of the raw power it lets me field.

I really like the Firehowlers, its just a lot of fun and so incredibly fluffy.

I also love the Wyrdstorm brother hood, it killed a necron overlords chariot turn one, winning me the game, as I won by a single point and it gave me SLW.

In small games it's the Emperor's Blade veteran formation. Preferred Enemy and Objective Secures with things I take anyway? Thanks! With a Recon formation of Sentinels it comes to 1250 easily.
Now in larger games out comes the artillery with Emperor's Wrath. 3 Basilsks a Hydra and a Manticore and the veteran squads get Voxes. Have to disembark them to work but things die with the big buns.

A simple space marine battle demi company. Its simple, fluffy and not terrible for what it is.

I love the Grotesquerie and Dark Artisan formations. After running squishy DEldar and Harlequins for ages its great to have something that can take a hit, which these do very well.

For Dark Eldar, the Grotesquerie, Dark Artisan and Corpsthiefe Claw all make for some good fun.

With Craftworld Eldar it's the Pale Courts Battlehost, I just love how customisable it is and can litterally run almost anything in it.

To ammend my previous post.

I generally run an Eldar CAD since almost every game I play is an Eternal War Mission, and scoring only matters at the end.

If I know I'm playing a Maelstrom mission OR a kill everyone/survive type mission (such as Purge the Alien) or simply a fluffy battle, then I prefer the Warhost with a Pale Courts Battlehost to better represent non-standard Craftworlds.

I really like the Raptor Wing. The fact it comes in automatically on Turn 2 maximizes it's turns on the board. The added ability to gain Tank Hunters and Shred against a designated target is icing on the cake.

Fluffwise it is fun. I like to think of it as Pedro Kantor calling in air support.

Bullyboyz ARE good. I also love orks in general and so anything that accentuates their best unit makes me happy inside.

Baal Strike Force Blood Angels.

It's not uber competitive but in my average meta (casual/fun) it's a ton of fun. Reminiscent of my old 3rd edition Blood Angels where Furious Charge gave +1 to both Initiative and Strength both.

I lose out on Objective Secured, but I still enjoy the list a lot and have a ton of fun with it all the same.
